Thanks Jay – posted an update on the Rennlist signature edition thread. Surprising that the dash plaque and F. Porsche signed certificate were separated from a car with only 34 miles.

Where do you see tape marks? Which car?

    Because I think youre dreaming.

Theres a clear run on the jamb of the blue car and its under the vin sticker at the bottom.

But i see no tape lines.

Any time a sticker is taped off its very obvious the paint is raised, I dont see that on the two cars you mentioned but perhaps my phone doesnt zoom in as far as your screen does.

Rear quarter panels are masked and painted near or in the gap between the rear quarter and the body. They’re not always masked around the VIN plate inside the door sill. This allows for a cleaner and “unraised” finish. The finish around this area is not consistent with a factory finish on these two cars. But without completing a meter test one cannot be positive of the paint’s originality, especially in photographs. I have a lot respect for this site and always attempt to impart objective information based on my knowledge and experiences which goes much farther than any of my dreams. If you’re interested in more info please PM me.

And what does one do with a Turbo with less than 100 miles on the clock, look at it? What a waste of a magnificent car.

it will be really interesting to see what that car brings at Mecum. I have seen in the past Ferraris and Covettes(Mecum had a whole collection of Corvettes with mileage like that last year) that had ultra low miles like that and they did not bring a huge premium over what other nice example's with low miles brought. I did see a Ford GT Heritage that did though. Gooding has a '94 flatnose with ultra low miles as well with a big estimate but that is a much rarer car.

I was in downtown Vancouver today. I parked behind a 930, late 70's, maybe early 80's. Id say it was in good driver condition. The cool thing I was feeding my parking meter. A group of kids about 10 to 12 year olds walked by it. All totally in awe at the Porsche and making wow comments. I have new hope for my generations cars the 70's and 80's, with whatever the next generation is named!

Id like to post a link to a very special and a very rare (the rarest) factory color 930 for sale.

I have permission form the parties involved and I will vouch that the mechanic is the probably the most knowledgeable 930 specialist in the midwest.

The color is Moonstone. Moonstone (light purple or lilac) is a factory color and it appears in the 1979 Factory brochure.

This 1979 930 is most likely the only Moonstone 930 in the world.

This car is still with its original owner.

Yes same car- must of been on consignment at Sloan. Richard recently passed away - not sure if that has anything to do with car going back to Indiana.

Is the market really slowing down or $125K is still too much for this car? Looks beautiful to me and has the combination of rare color, original paint and low miles?

Rare and desirable are two different things- color is an extremely subjective attribute.
