If Bernie is seen walking the grid in Germany this weekend, you can kiss off the mother- in-law. Its also the final knife in the back for the Brazil GP

For $36M, Bernie could have a dozen hit men of high caliber search the city and leave not only the perpetrators dead, but their families too; with change to spare.

Thought exactly the same. If anyone kidnaps my MIL, they'd return her within the hour...T

Not surprised if Bernie paid them to take her.

Yes. Tough times for Brazil. A financially devastating Olympics venue has been built to get the country out of a debt crisis. Kidnappings had been decreased, but the zika virus is still looming.

It will be forgotten in a month or less, as is always the case. Especially with the olympics starting this week.

Given how connected Bernie is its a pretty naive thing to do. Did they actually think they were going to get paid and walk away into the sunset?

Glad she's back safe and sound.

The "mastermind" behind Bernie's mother-in-law kidnap was the helicopter pilot that serves(ed) him when he is in Brazil! The guy was so smart that he hired two little thugs that used their own car to follow the victim. Very amateurish job.

Ecclestone kidnapping case goes to court

It was "difficult" for Bernie Ecclestone's wife and mother in law to come face to face with kidnappers in court on Thursday.

That was the admission of Ecclestone's wife Fabiana Flosi, who accompanied her mother Aparecida Schunck to the court session, according to Brazilian television SPTV.

In July, Schunck was successfully rescued by authorities after a nine day kidnapping ordeal, masterminded by F1 boss Ecclestone's former helicopter pilot who was demanding a $37 million ransom and threatened to behead her.

According to SPTV, a Sao Paulo judge convened a hearing on Thursday which was attended by Schunk, Flosi and the seven who are accused of carrying out the kidnapping.

The court session lasted three hours, and will reportedly continue when defence witnesses are called. A verdict is not expected until early 2017.

"Today was a very difficult day," Ecclestone's Brazilian wife Flosi said.

"We had to hear details of what happened, and remember the despair of those days when my mother was missing," she added.

"Now we just hope that the judiciary can continue the work of the police and give deserved and appropriate penalties for this crime," said Flosi.
