The Rosso cavallinos are a nice touch. Sounds like a wonderful experience, can't wait to see the finished products.

Wow David that seems like a very intricate system but the final result is very clean!

Lukeylikey, good for you! You have some very exciting cars coming! And Anna really is excellent at her job. Ferrari is very fortunate to have her.

Luckylikely, thanks for sharing - great write-up. I ended with something similar to your GTC on my F12 recently (GS, cuoio w/o going overboard on the CF). Enjoy and once arrived, drive in good health!

    Great summary, thanks for sharing.

Did you consider the new semi analina colour of Cognac and for the outside Canna di fucile.
I too have specified Silverstone partly because all my Ferraris have been Silverstone but I'm attracted to Canna as it is a bit darker and looking at the car in darker colours I think the bits I don't like are less obvious.

Sorry for delay in reply - I was back at Maranello doing a pilota course (the third one). Yes, I always love it. I have been at least 6 or 7 times now and it feels nicely familiar (what a privilege to be able to go there and drive around Fiorano, order a car, or pick one up - I am very thankful to God for health and wealth that allows that).

If you have never been, it's worth it to do an Atelier or pilota course - even from other continents like the US or Asia.

I did consider it but decided against it for a few reasons; our FF has the semi-aniline Cuoio Toscana, a sort of brighter and more orangey Cuoio. It looks great but a change is as good as a rest so I chose standard Cuoio instead. Thought about Sabbia or the light grey colour and also Bordeaux but decided against those. My salesman reckoned Silverstone/Cuoio is one of those combinations that is more than the sum of its parts and my wife favoured it too.

I've always fancied a go at Canna di Fucile, it looks great and even the name sounds enticing and exotic. I didn't because ordering two cars at the same time I was starting to rack up some cost and used that to make sure the boxes I ticked I really wanted to tick. In the end I e-mailed afterwards and added a couple of things, such as the upgraded sound system, anyway.

Thank you for writing about your experience - really interesting for someone who can only dream about the experience!

Your cars look beautiful and very well specced. Congrats.

Sounds great! I've been in Maranello numerous times. Although not an owner (yet), I absolutely love watching the cars driving on track @ Fiorano and the streets of Maranello.

Can't recommend Grigio Abu Dhabi highly enough - rare, stunning in all lights, does not look dirty.

Hovers between silver, beige, white and gold.

    It's a 3 layer FF colour.

    Expensive........especially on a 458.

    Go for it.

It was my second time. Completely worthwhile - I will do it every time I can - and a must-do-once experience at the very least.

Anna, who will most likely be the person who you deal with is superb and very knowledgeable. She has seen many different variations on the theme and uses her knowledge of what works well to interact with your own ideas and usually come up with something very unique and nice, if you put in the effort.

People knock Ferrari for all sorts of things but in this day and age, what a great experience to be able to be welcomed through those famous old factory gates to 'design' your very own Ferrari. The staff love and fully understand the appeal of the brand and what it means, plus why it means what it does to so many. The old courtyard, where the atelier rooms are, is much as it was decades ago and you can really feel the link the company has to the past. There is, dare I say it, something of a family feel to it, despite the corporate side of the company.

Toured the factory today. Agree about the family feel. Almost mom-and-pop, although I know that's silly when 700 employees work in F1 alone.

There were tons of Blu Corsa 488's on the line. Our guide said that it has become very popular as of late. Also, 45% of all Ferraris are still sold in some shade of rosso.

With respect to the GTC4 Lusso, there was a gorgeous example in California red - a deep ruby / burgundy metallic in person. Loved it. Very elegant and understated. I also tend towards grigio, having Ferro on the F12 and Silverstone on our former 612 OTO, but I'd strongly consider the CR if I was buying a Lusso. Good luck.

Red the A it's certainly rare, 499 looks low numbers nowadays and compared to TDF.

Rosso California. Introduced just a few years ago on the California, I believe. Like many things Ferrari, pics don't do it justice.
