^^^^he must know something we don't ...according to most reports we're only 10 horsepower down on the Mercs while being miles down the road in making the car work ...so what do we do ? Get (an albeit excellent) engine specialist to become the technical director.

    Best,
    Sammy

Like I said, keyword in all the news: "jointly"

I think Allison will be at Renault, I just wonder how long of a garden leave Ferrari has imposed on him before he can jump onboard...

As for all the Brawn rumors, I call bullocks.

Would be a brilliant asset while setting up the foundation for continuity - like he did with Lowe.

And he'll keep Arrivabene in a job.

    Best,

    Sammy

If McLaren have any sense they throw loads of $$ at him and toss Tim Goss who should have been sacked years ago. I don't know where Allison fits in at Renault, they already have Bell at TD. My guess is that he will take a sabbatical and be with his children. He's good enough and young enough that he can come back to F1 anytime he wants.

Paddy Lowe's contract is up at the end of the year, rumours circling around the paddock regarding a Ferrari switch.

Where is the incentive to leave a successful team to join a struggling one?

Why would Paddy Lowe abandon his job in an efficient and well managed team to throw himself into a nest of intrigues?

Sorry, but I cannot see the attraction.

I think Ferrari under Marchionese and Arrivabene is the last place to go!!

William, high caliber professionals like challenges and moving to a company that is under-performing is the place to be if you want them. Do you remember Schumacher era with Todt and Brawn? Yes, it's very risk but Lowe has already amassed a lot of $recognition$ and perhaps that would infuse some motivation in him..

Apart from that, living in Emilia Romagna is WAAAYYY better than East Midlands! just kidding :-D

More money, more freedom to work(form own team), more responsibility/input, etc.

I know that talented people are very ambitious, relish a challenge and want to leave a legacy.

But repeating the Schumacher/Todt/Brawn/Byrne era is very unlikely. It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Even Lowe must think that he cannot move a mountain under the present leadership at Ferrari.

A working week of just 3 1/2 days and away from the track action isn't really sustainable, how understandable it may be.

If you read how many hours/days/weeks f1 mechanics spend away from home, for them it's more a lifestyle than job.

Unfortunately, unless every single respectable pundit is wrong, would have to agree with you.

    Feel sorry for Arrivabene though.

So if Paddy hops over to Ferrari., might Ross be tempted by Mercedes? (bit closer to home for the fly fishing). Makes sense now why Ross went to Hockenheim?

    Total disaster for Ferrari.

Totally understand the move by James. Hope he finds peace for his family.

With all due respect to James Allison, I'd rather Ferrari moved on with a new guy that can give 110% than persist with someone unable to give his time and best attentions. It's not a case of just the one guy doing the work, Allison directed a team of brilliant people, so hopefully, the new guy can take up the reins and we can see some results

Not sure about disaster as this is F1 and not curing cancer but all the best to him and the family. This cannot be easy at all.
