Maybe google him along with his town? News stories, etc?

 

Google is useless anymore but I've done searches and presumably others here have done as well. Nothing comes up under a name search of obits in his local paper, thank goodness. Very, very strange situation but hoping for the best for Ian.

 

Unfortunately, a search for "Ian Anderson" (used by many on different forums) is an avatar of the front man for Jethro Tull and not necessarily a forum member's actual name.

 

+1 on both.

I think google changed their privacy algorithm making it harder to find actual people.

There is an "Ian Anderson" at Linkedin...Formally Williams F1 Engineer so this must be him...

^^Given it was a ltd company, I gave First 2b a call and spoke to a very nice gentleman called Ian Anderson ....unfortunately he's not our Ian.

Does anyone have an address? Campbell is about an hour away from the city, I don't mind driving out to check in, but I need an accurate destination.

 

Apparently Campbell isn't the precise location:

Perhaps someone with the address can give you a better idea of the true location.

Failing that, has anyone with Ian's address tried sending him a physical letter or greeting card via post? If someone sends me the address via PM, I'll get an online-order (I'm suspicious about USPS handling foreign stamped letters) greeting card physically sent over there. If Ian's absent but having his mail tended to or forwarded, that might put us in touch with whoever is assisting him or reach him directly.

I'm going to Monterey in less than two weeks. I will be happy to knock on his door and leave a note.

Seriously. I think you either find a body or he is in a hospital somewhere. In the latter we will likely not hear from him until he is back.

Recently worked EXTREMELY well with a certain user here that thought we no longer loved him. He was back on within 48 hours and has been posting like a mad man ever since.
