Very nice 05 MY, US spec, F1 575M HGTC, 140945, AN 58490 in London being shown on US E-Bay. Less than 5000 miles, Daytonas, shields, carbon fiber and all the HGTC goodies (CCMs, extra brake cooling, springs, shocks, rear anti-roll bar, 180 ms TCU, exhaust, wheels, etc). Last info I had on her she was in San Francisco, so looks like she took a long boat ride. All Nero. London LHD Centre.http://www.londonlhdcentre.com/lhd-cars-for-sale/ferrari/575-f1-gtc-2005-us-spec

Nice car. I believe that they imported it from the US and have had it for circa 2+ years. It popped up in this forum around April but the post was deleted as it was in effect an advert but the LondonLHDCentre didn't have the savvy/courtesy to pay for a subscription. Not sure why they don't appear to have advertised it on Pistonheads which incidentally may soon have over 100 Maranellos listed for sale on it... (I see 550 x 44, Superamerica x 9 & 575M x 44 today).

It appears on their blog in 2014..

London Left Hand Drive Centre | London LHD Centre blog

No visible reserve on the eBay listing - but that isn't to say that there isn't one.

What taxes would be payable if it was to return back to the US, which seems like the best place for it given the current exchange rate?

I just wonder if they would let it go for this side of $200k..

P.S. They have listed it as a "GTC" so have earned another dope-slap from me!

Handling GTC is a term used by Ferrari in some documents, including the OM supplement, part number 69086400. In the parts catalog, it is HGTC. The part tags for the OM supplement are listed as 575Gtc, Handling Gtc Leaflet Brochure. The Data Sheets Ferrari provided to the dealers are titled 575 Handling GTC and one reference is to GTC suspension set-up.

So the name can be parsed several ways, even by Ferrari, even with the 575 GTC competition model out there.

Contacted the seller about a month ago. At that time they were looking for $170k U.S. as I remember. Sweet car, was very tempting.

Bill- May be less now that the pound is so low. Looks pretty much new.

Taz, looked up their email and it was dated 4/30/16. They quoted 120,000 pounds. Saw the same original post as Mogulboy.
Figure $20-30k to get it home. A very fair price for the car but at this point, in too deep and comfortable where I'm at.

Just curious but how do you get to your USD20-30k figure, Bill?

I have heard of circumstances when import (or should I say re-import) duties are waived if the car has previously had duties paid in that country (but don't ask me for more detail as I don't have it).

LondonLHDCentre state that this car was "Florida supplied"...and they have listed it in a dollar denominated auction "with the view that it would be sensible to market it directly in the US..."

P.S. There are two other European LHD HGTC with carbon seats currently offered in the UK on Pistonheads at the moment...

The long time advertised Rosso (ex-Swiss) car with 9k miles now with an ambitious ask of GBP197,850...

Used 2005 Ferrari 575 for sale in Cheshire | Pistonheads

And more recently, another Nero Daytona (ex-Germany) car has appeared with double the mileage and a GBP157,995 ask.

All lovely looking cars but the last two make the subject US car look cheap if they are prepared to let it go for GBP120k (plus shipping and taxes).

Just a guess to my door, no facts. Shipping, taxes, can't help feeling someone's going to want some import fees. Regardless, if the car is as it should be, and based on what I felt was a reasonable asking price in April, the car is very fairly priced in my mind. As Taz mentioned its loaded with desirable and hard to find options.
If it were in my reach I'd go for it. But at this point comfortable with my Rosso Corsa 2002 with HGTC improvements.
It's likely with the drop in the pound the seller has readjusted their price to some degree.

Does anybody know if a US buyer would have to pay tax on a re-import where duty has already been paid when the car was sold new in the US?
I assume tax is not refunded when a car was exported from the US ?

No VAT or duties here on original purchase, just state sales tax. All the rest was included in the manufacturers' list price. Probably still owe customs of 2.5% or so and some states might want sales tax on registration. Some states have no sales tax.

Mogul do you have any details on the black ahahah. In Germany for sale?

If you remember I had one (from Eberlein) chassis 139944 which I sold to a gentlemen in Denmark.
This gentleman had it "stollen" by a so called German buyer - so I'd be wary about buying a black HGTC in Germany at the moment (if in doubt ask me, I can confirm or not whether it was my car until last year)
