Eastern NC has a great station known as WRMR. They play a lot of new alt/rock, and throw in some nice "retro rock" songs that you don't hear much anymore (Bring The Noise, London Calling, God Save The Queen, and etc). I don't think they're owned by iHeart so they have a bit more freedom in their music choices. Also, their promoters have a great sense of humor, so every now and then while transitioning between songs you'll hear some kind of off the wall humor ("Sometimes when I walk into a store, I wonder if the employees are like 'hey, some really cool guy just walked into the store'.") I've heard a bunch of new songs on there that I haven't heard anywhere else, and that song happened to be one of them. They're a little out of range for me, but at least I can still listen via their online radio player (which kind of sucks).

 

^ It's pretty amazing how similar, and how repetitive, the play lists at many stations are. Thank goodness for F-chat and YouTube for some variety!

I'm not a big fan of most of their recent stuff, but Thank God For Girls is probably my favorite since a couple songs off of Red Album.

Now listening to "Prophets of Rage" by Prophets of Rage. Essentially a mash up between some members of Rage Against The Machine, Cyprus Hill, and Public Enemy.

That was very good, I thought. Especially with Chuck D putting in some Fight The Power. Ditto for Kill a Man. But, the Rage covers? I'm torn. Think the boys need to make up with Zack, and go full rage again...T
