That berlinetta nose is different on 15 october 1967 1000km paris to the FOC UK meeting, Prescott when in maranello concessionaires livery on 3rd september 1967.
What I think is that the original berlinetta front and rear clip were copied in GRP and used during the Paris 1000km in 1967. Nose changed because no slot and different air scoops left and right.
That new grp body perfectly matches with the Kyalami 9 hour berlinetta body (also in grp)
But Jim found green paint on the nose of 0854...so that contradicts the above the body at Paris was in grp.

Piper sold the car as a spyder in 1969 but not with the complete original berlinetta body of 0854, used the spyder tail 0858 (which he bought from Hawkins together with more P4 parts) (note there is no extra slot, above the vertical post under the ferrari logo 0854 had at Le Mans, Spa and Brand Hatch, 0856/0858/0860 had two slots)

Jim did you open the slot on the nose of 0854 during restoration?
The original rear clip (see photo) is the same as on 3rd sept 1967 FOC Prescott, with that "9" and not the boac '9"

barchetta.cc: 67 - Barchetta that is incorrect. This car was never a barchetta in 1967.

Just wanted to make clear to anyone reading the above that it is not true. The 1967 F1 engine and P4s have different cylinder blocks with the P4 block having a higher deck height for the longer stroke.

Does anyone have a clear picture of the vin tag/plate of 0854?

Hi, Can someone help me to identify the "yellow dot" decal shown on 0854 and other 412Ps.
It's located right behind the side view mirror next to the number.
I'd like to understand the significance of the decal and find a source for it. Thanks, Nino

Mr Glickenhaus said here they were fire circles on 0854 to denote aluminium doors, but 0846 (the real one) had them at Le Mans, 1967, but that had glass fibre doors.

@JJNino. The P4s, which had Glass Fibre doors, also had the yellow dots at LM 67.

    Some clues here.

Sounds like the dots/circles were for the overall bodywork material: red for glass fibre and yellow for aluminium?

Thanks Steve, Makes sense. I'll see if I can track down some yellow circles for my car now that I know what to search for.
    Take care, Nino

Hi Nino, I thought you were going to recreate your car with the livery of the Filipinetti P3/412P 0848 at the 1967 1000 KM of Monza #7, with drivers Nino Vaccarella and Herbert Muller? If so, it didn't have the yellow circles at this race? Has this now changed to the livery of 0854 where it had the yellow circles at both Le Mans and Brands Hatch, 1967?

Edit. Should read: If so, it didn't have the yellow circles at this race. without the question mark. Much too short a time to edit on this site.

Hi Steven, Thank-you for the clarification. You are correct, I'm still recreating Filipinetti 0848 running #7 at Monza not 0854. Since you're confident that there were no yellow circles on the car during that race I'll leave them off. Thank-you! Nino

Hi Steven, Thanks to your guidance, my search for correct decals is complete. Even down to the period correct scrutineering decal for Monza. Here's a work-in-progress picture that I shared with a very nice enthusiast yesterday. The debut at Concorso Italiano this year will be special and I hope the community will appreciate what I've accomplished. She will still be shown in raw aluminum this year but next year will be in Filipinetti livery. My dream! Salute! Nino Image Unavailable, Please Login

Great choice ;) You probably know that but there's a book dedicated to 0848 (and its siblings) from the Cavalleria series (Volume 11).
