Genuinely sad to read this, RIP Ian
My worst fears for Ian realised, and My hopes for it not to be true dashed! freshmeat: We don't always see eye to eye, but I would like to thank you sincerely for your efforts today - It is genuinely appreciated, and I can only guess how upset you must have felt on the journey home - I for one feel devastated! R.I.P Fast ian! As we would say in the UK: You were a Diamond Geezer and a true Gentleman! Even though I only ever knew you through FerrariChat, and never got to meet you in person, you shall always be remembered as being a friend! - A friend who I shall miss dearly! God Bless, and Godspeed to you! - FerrariChat will never be the same without you!
I did not know him at all but recall seeing his avatar a few times....always sucks to lose someone. RIP Ian.
Horrible news, so sad. RIP Ian. I was really hoping for a long time that he was just offline for a while being caught up in a move back to the UK. (Thanks to freshmeat for making the visit)
Every now and again Ferrari Chat seems like a genuine community and not just a faceless message board. Today is such an occasion although obviously a sad one. Thanks to Fresh for taking on this upsetting journey. May Ian find peace and rest in the hereafter.
If you haven't met any FChatters in person, you really should. It's much more than just a message board.
Anybody know Ian's racing resume? I'm aware he was involved in F1 (and Indycars?). Sad loss, I always was interested in his postings.
Thank you so much for going, Freshmeat. I was afraid this was the case. I didn't know him long, but I'll miss him. Prayers to his family.
Thank you for going man. I'm very upset to hear this. Ian was a fascinating, intelligent, and warm person. His passion for racing was infectious - and it infected me. I will sincerely miss speaking to him but feel very lucky to have known him - if only through our exchanges here. May he rest in peace. You will be missed Ian.
