308 GT/4 AC fan switch

The plastic post on the Borletti AC fan switch in my GT/4 snapped. There isn't enough left to reattach to so I'm looking for a replacement. The Ferrari piece is NLA and a used one is rather pricey.

Assuming that there's no clearance issues will an off the shelf three position 12V switch work?

Right now I'm looking for a generic short term alternative but if it can be fixed it would be great.
The switch itself works it's just the plastic bit that's damaged so a repair sounds feasible. Perhaps with a metal post this time.

Apparently the piece was used in Volvos as well but it's NLA from them too.
