Love it or hate it, I've gone gold

Assuming that yours are 2- or 3- piece wheels, you can leave the rims shiny and do something different to the centers.

For example, think black center spokes, like the 1980 era Porsche 911 Fuchs.

I don't know why anyone would alter the size, color or design of the original wheels on a 308 other than swapping out TRX 390 wheels for 16 inch wheels for additional tire options. Why mess with a classic design? 308s certainly don't need "customizing."

I may do that again someday but my car didn't come with them from the PO so I'm having fun with what I've got. When prices come back to earth again I might hunt for some 16's.

I like the coffin spokes better though. I see some in my future.

 

Also partial to gold wheels...haven't tried it on my 308, but been thinkin' about it

I'm a purist, always have been. Original intent kind of guy. I was sure I was going to HATE them. Gold wheels? On a FERRARI? Puh, spit on them . . . NO WAY...

BUT. . . I like 'em. I like them a lot. They look super on your car.

WHAT THE HELL HAS COME OVER ME??? I dunno, but . . .

Of course, I have to admit that I have a set of gold wheels myself... along with the stock 16" wheels, I have a set of 16" BBS with gold centres - they were on the car all last summer, haven't been on this year yet.

When I bought the car in 2011, it had the gold, I had them redone in silver soon thereafter. Sometimes I wish I hadn't.

when I saw painted gold , I was assuming the bodywork. Nice relief to see it was just the wheels.

 

Has to be my favorite too. Hope to buy a set of those wheels someday.

 

i had the same E50 mag bbs 16 wheels on my 308. super light. ive got a set of e50's 8-11x15 for a more vintage look but they are for the porsche.

these are much more hardcore than the later RS types

 

I'm one of the 100% OEM taliban, but this one looks really great!

Agreed, Listerbell sells a 16" version that I have my eye on.

Mine is Grigio but I'm going to try a more greyish bronze color. I saw a 458 with the color combo and it looked great. Don't want it too brassy. Maybe even darker than this.
