You could save a ton of money and just ride your new cat around town. Just as fast and comes with a built-in alarm. :)

Many greetings Model Specific Discussions 348/355 Forum!

Very unfortunately, the accident F355 VS Deer... But fortunately, there was not human
    casualties!

Regarding this new quest to achieve a prancing horse, allow me to suggest four models:

    - the F355 Berlinetta in red color

    - the 599 GTB in grey color

    - the 458 Italia in yellow color

    - the 550 Maranello in black color

    God speed with harmony...!

    Just a update.

Total payout was $107,408.00. I recommend that everyone update their policy's to protect yourself.

Eric your experience was EXACTLY why I got setup with an agreed value policy through American Modern.

I got $100K on the 95 I just sold and $130K on the F1 GTS.

That's not bad at all. I am curious, had the car been wrecked before as stated by someone who posted in this thread? You never responded to them directly, so I wasn't sure. It's interesting, if it had been wrecked, that the insurance still paid out well. Some internet conspirators think they won't, but perhaps they're not talking about agreed value insurance.

Was that your agreed amount to start with or did it vary from that? I think it seems pretty fair.

Have you decided on a replacement?

I would say that's fair value. Around $95k before all the mods you did roughly?

Too bad you couldn't pull off all your exhaust bits and wheels. That's nearly $10k right there.

You're not too far off from nice F430 territory...I think you'll miss the music the 355 puts out though.

I don't follow the American 355 market but I am sure $107K is a pretty good number. :)

Last week I called which was what I thought was a new insurance company to get an insurance quote for my 348. I haven't rung around for an insurance quote for 6+ years.

I was wrong, these guys had been around for many years. Lol

Anywho, they gave me a quote for my 348 with a market value $62,000 higher than what I had with my actual insruance company.

So I called my insurance company and they were more than happy to lift their payout figure to me to match the other insurance company without changing my insurance premium.

To say I am very happy is an understatement.

I was grossly under-insured now I think about it. There is only one other 348 for sale in Australia at the moment and the asking price is AU $150K.

And it's an import LHD 348 with more mileage than my car.

So even if I crash my car, I won't have much luck finding another one to buy anytime soon.

Isn't that the truth. I got her harnessed and leashed up yesterday for the first time. I was the one getting walked around. This is going to take some practice. Ha!

Honestly, hard to put a value on these to tell you the truth. I have been "working out the bugs" on the very first spider I ever bought almost 10 years ago after a DIY MAJOR major.

Almost brings tears to my eyes. So rewarding. I have much newer and faster cars and more luxurious cars but gosh I love the 355 so much. I will always have a few.

Good luck Eric with your new choice

PAP, who are you insured with? Mine got raised to $130 but I had to agree with that figure and send them pics of current condition and recent work done to get there. That was the most they would go. They also charged a hefty increase to premium for upping the value.

Congrats on getting things finalized! I just picked up a 360 Modena 3 pedal car which I think would also be a fine replacement for your (our) old 355 B!
