Just had a chat with someone who told me that the GTB/GTS models had a 1" front lip spoiler.

    Is this correct?

Mine did not have it and I have never seen it on any other GTB/GTS.

From everything that I've read the added front spoiler/splitter came with the SS only.

I have one in stock. It is more like an air-dam that mounts under the chin spoiler:

63547100 SPOILER - Ricambi America, Inc.

The second picture on our website, taken from below the car, is the best view of how it is mounted and how thin it is.

This is the spoiler fitted to my car. SS type. I know its not stock and it must have been retro fitted at some point a long time ago. Interesting to see an alternative available too. Also, there are three part numbers listed in the link below.

Ferrari 348 TS (1993) - Front Bumper: Page 119 | Order Online Eurospares

There was a spoiler released as part of Ferraris attempt to try and keep the front end at bay during high speed so my question would be which one? The SS type or the alternative as Daniel has shown us. Anyone have a definitive answer? Ive always believed it must have been fitted to my car for that reason. It looks a more integral affair than the other type. Maybe its an SS bumper.

Back to OPs original question. Im not aware any GTB/GTS had a standard front spoiler but they were available for 348 models from the factory if required. Perhaps your man saw one retro fitted. Not shown in my early parts manual but appear in the later.
    What do you think guys?

Can't see that being correct! - The front lip spoiler fitted to Pangea's car looks to have been custom moulded for the 348 looking at how the ends are formed perfectly for the width of the valance. (you'd have to be incredibly lucky to find a universal spoiler that fits the valance that well!)

How can you guys live with a front spoiler? I beat the devil out of my front bumper with no spoiler

The one on your car certainly looks like an SS lip, or at least a good copy.

By chance, do you have the Hill skid plates fitted? I'm wondering how those would work in conjunction with an SS lip.

I bought the spoiler to have it as an early warning system.

No Mike. Skid plates not fitted and I'm not are they would anyway. Ive had a couple of groundings over the years but nothing heavy. I've learnt the lesson to slow down over traffic control humps, avoid very low kerbs and steep driveways. All good since then. I don't track this car which helps.

I understand, hence the wink earlier. My car isn't even lowered, yet it's all too easy to drag the air dam. I spend a lot of time entering undulations (including my steep driveway) at oblique angles, which helps immensely but tends to aggravate other drivers when traffic density is high. All part of driving a thoroughbred—the DD truck and MB are much more livable every day, but nowhere near as exciting to drive.

They are polymer and you can get them in any length and trim and shape them to fit, no problem. The shape/profile looks identical.

    Still cant see it!

The ends of the 348 spoiler are definitely moulded and not trimmed to shape, and the ends of the bonnet/hood spoiler are a totally different shape:
