I've got a spider reporting that the engine compartment is open, so I cannot operate the top. With all the rain in South Florida summer, that makes taking out the car a risky proposition!

I've read on the boards here that there is a micro-switch I can either disconnect or replace/repair, but I cannot find it looking through diagrams and ferrarichat. Can anyone share with me a better description of where the switch is? I have found the micro-switch for the top near the driver's side hinge, but no-go on the trunk.

    Thanks in advance!

if it's the same as a coupe, the switch is under the latch in that black box. undo the bolts and you'll see it. There's a little arm that gets out of whack. It can be bent back to make contact. Do a search on here, you'll find a thread or two. I had to bend my microswitch arm a bit a couple years ago. The contact plate on top of the latch box and corresponding push switch on the lid itself is for the 3rd brake light

When you say "the latch" is that the black latch in the drivers door where we pull the lever to open the cover?

no, its the latch where the compartment cover that comes down and is secured, item 29 on the diagram. you can see that there are screws holding it together. unscrew them and the microswitch is inside. it's a tight fit to reach in but doable.
Not saying that this is the answer but something to investigate

It's attached to the latch under the cover. You should be able to trick it by disconnecting the switch but be careful not to operate the hood with the hatch up.

Thanks Bob and Voicey- Bending AND making about a 1/8" adjustment to the cable fixed the problem. Roof works now and engine compartment reports correctly now!
