Hi guys. passanger seat won't go back all the way. It moves forward , but only two thirds the way back ! Tried looking under the seat to see if my floor mats are in the way ! But they are not.
Would anyone give me advise on what's happening please. .?

    So much information!

Worse case you need an allen wrench and remove the seat to look at what is causing the problem. 10 minute ix. There are two horizontal screws at the front and two normal vertical screws in the rear of the glide rail.

My guess - a screw or bolt has moved in the path.

Maybe a pen. This always happens on my BMW's. Drop a pen and it always finds itself stuck in the seat rail channel.

Its possible it was put together wrong. As said before just take it out and it will be obvious.

profile seems to say this is a 355 spider. So, 1) when you make the seat go back does it stop but the seat motor keep laboring as if to try to make the seat go further? If that is the case then it could be something binding in the track or blocking movement. 2) If the seat stops moving back and the motor shuts off it is possible the seat potentiometer is broken or out of sync.

With a 355 Spider power seat, you are lucky that it can move forward.

    1. Move the seats forward, remove the center console covering the top control ECU. Unplug it, plug it back, and see if it works now.

    2. If not, remove the seat. You will do some headstand trying to get to the front bolts but it is possible.

    3. Inspect the tracks, the rails, the seat upside down. See if it binds. Apply battery voltage to the seat outside the car and eliminate the motor as the culprit.

    4. If that does not solve the problem, you are now in the territory of the seat position potentiometer. Good luck.
