330 GTC for CGT?

Great swap but I have mixed emotions and I'm sure you do too

Good trade. The CGT is almost a race car, as I am sure you have already found out. It can snap out on you on the limit if you're not at one with it. Tiger Woods had one. He bought it on a Friday and traded it back in the following Monday. Someone who lives close to me has one, and I have never seen him behind the wheel. It is his mechanic who takes it for a "maintenance ride" once in a while. Last time I saw it, the air dam had eaten a not insubstantial amount of dirt and grass.

 

I have owned both a CGT and a GTC. I loved the front engined V-12. For its era, it is a well balanced car. Nimble, with a usable power band, and nice suspension. Ultimately I traded my GTC for a 67 Miura. I guess I'm more of a mid engine guy. Couldn't pass up the sexiness of a lime green Lambo!

In retrospect, I think the GTC market topped out in the last couple of years. I maximized my value moving to the Miura P400.

As for the CGT, I've had mine 4 years. It is analog, just like my 05 Ford GT. No nannies. I would have a hard time parting with my yellow CGT. I think it's that iconic. Like Porsche 550's, 911S's, 959's, etc. The wail of the V-10 is incredible.
Make sure you put new tires on the CGT if that hasn't been done yet.

You're a man of exemplary taste if I say so myself . I had a Miura P400S long ago, and still have the FGT I purchased new.

 

john b has raced in anger, cars that make the cgt look like a yugo. trust me...his racecraft is quite in order.

CGT is a very stable and predictable platform, no tricky nuances here, just a healthy respect for the performance available vs own skills ( most difficult aspect for most guys to acknowledge,it seems).
A pure and safe, closest to real race car then anything else street legal.
The accident you mention says nothing negative about the car itself, entirely avoidable if not for irresponsibility and utmost stupidity of Rodas (driver).
I am still smacking my head for my own stupidity when I sold mine a few years ago.

 

Likely what they said about my 77 930 back when I bought it in 79. It was also a race car at the time and sophisticated for its time as well (also had the widow amer nickname). It didn't come with an instruction manual either as how to drive it fast with do's and don'ts. Just had to rely on ones skills. Lots of folks got into trouble with that car as well as the current CGT both great cars in their period.
