Hey Guys. Just curious if anyone here has a line on a replacement 430 windshield? Quoted $8500 CND from factory...pretty pricey. Thanks.
My car has a factory bill of $4,200 I believe (from previous owner) Ebay has one for sale last time I looked
ferrparts, ask for Russ. He shipped me a new windshield for $2,500 USD. After local install, all in was $5k CDN
You guys are quoting big numbers for a windscreen, eurospares in uk do a Ferrari OEM for about £1100 or a pattern for £600. About 1.25 dollars to the pound.
Ferrari F430 360 Coupe Windshield Front Glass with Antenna Green 63353800 | eBay $1,700 shipped for non-OEM
Good question. I claimed mine and it definitely showed up on CarFax. I was able to negotiate with CarFax somewhat to reduce the dire sounding language they used, but not to my satisfaction. Ultimately my insurance company sent me a letter on their letterhead stating that the claim was only for glass. All for a $3,700. claim. Not sure I'd make the claim again, but I have zero $ deductible. So let me throw this question out there. If you found the car of your dreams and it had a windshield replacement on the CarFax. How would you feel about it. It was replaced with original factory glass. exactly the same as the rock chipped on I replaced. 🤔
If a PPI didn't reveal any other issues, I'd be OK with it. It's an easy to understand situation that Fcars owners go through. In fact the windshield on my Scud got peppered with nicks after just 1 drive with other Fcars through the canyons. Has clear wrap protection now, but lots of tiny nicks that'll make me replace it someday.
Thank you for your response. I'm glad to hear you look at it the way you do. After reading this thread. If you get a decent size rock chip. Do you think you will make a claim or pay for it out of pocket?
Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I'd probably take a picture of the day's newspaper w/ date next to the crack/chip the day before it was fixed and another the day after it was fixed. Probably with a full car picture too so that nobody thought I was using the 'windshield' claim to hide a bigger repair by doing both at the same time. That's the carfax ferrari world we live in it seems...
Im Arizona windshield coverage is 2.00/ month and the windshield does not hit carfax. My insurance company repairs chips for free, and if the crack is over 6" replaces it for 0 deductible.
Turbo that's a good idea. I wish I had thought of that when it was replaced. The claim was only $3,700. Other than glass what could you fix for that small amount. Most Ferrari's have had their front bumper resprayed because of rock chips too. I have to say I really can't stand CarFax. I would love to know the statistics of how many mistakes they make on average. I know I was trading in a BMW once. The dealer asked if I purchased the car "used". I asked why he was interested. He said the CarFax said I was the 2nd or 3rd owner. CarFax was completely wrong. I was the first owner. I purchased the car new. The resale of our cars lives or dies by this company and they often make mistakes. 😡
Anyone have any pointers on getting a 360 windshield, used or otherwise. I'm looking for an OEM one, not aftermarket. Dealership wants $4000 USD to get one for mine. It's got a chip in it, and it was there when I bought it. If I had known how much the windshields are on the 360s, I would have talked the guy down more when I bought it
If it were established to my satisfaction that only the windshield had been damaged, and if it were a factory unit, properly installed, I'd be very happy to buy the car. Fred
In Florida I shouldn't show.. Unless it was reported you to the police.. Then it would be on car fax. Florida requires windshields to be replaced at no cost. I will monitor the car fax to see if mine shows up. They have never showed up before and I have had some Windows replaced
I wish that was true for the Rocky Mountain region. We have great roads for driving a Ferrari, unfortunately the also come with a lot of gravel.
Depends, I've had glass shops tell me the chips or cracks need to be of a certain size otherwise the resin doesn't have enough surface area to grab onto. Who knows, it would be worth trying though.
