1977 ? Never made those in 77. Only the regular Renault (le car) Andrew I will forward you an email of a good friend of mine that live in the NY/NJ area. He is probably the best thing since slice bread when it comes to the R5.
Resurrecting an old thread - I know these are rare birds... anyone has or knows of a R5 Turbo for sale (open to any gen) in US or Canada?
I had one a decade ago. It was one of those childhood dreams to be realized. Still the best steering road car I have driven. But to have fun it needed to be kept on the turbo laggy boil. That funtionaly meant using all the road all the time. Great for arally run, less so elsewhere. Plus as nice as the exterior looked, the interior was really R5 tin can. The GR Yaris is its modern sucessor, too bad we cant buy those here.
I hear you... I am a big fan of cars of the past that leave a lasting memory. I plan to look for a R5 Turbo or a Lancia Delta HF Integrale, both of which are a sort of a time machine to bring me back to certain elements of my youth that left an indelible mark into the adult I ended up becoming.
Hi guys; for those reading who are current Turbo or Turbo 2 owners, I have a few sets of the orange blinkers that go under the clear covers. The French club had a small batch custom made (very high quality)and I purchased a dozen to distribute at my cost to owners in the US. $112. Please PM. I've had 3 R5T2's, probably enough. But noticed this guy has a bunch of little parts for the cars- just passing the word. https://www.ebay.com/usr/apnetwork
