    Credit where credit is due...

No Diffey this morning during qualifying.

So nice to watch the live streaming broadcast without having to drown him out with music.

+1, I did not understand much on Univision but it was a welcome relief to not have to the bleating of Diffey!

    You're reading my mind!

I think sometimes they must get paid by the word.

I even emailed a complaint to NBC over a year ago with those sediments and asked them to watch Sky's coverage to see how the professionals do it!

I hoped he overstayed in the US and Trump would kick him out.

When I watched rowing, I thought the voice sounded familiar. Then I saw his name pop up as an announcer/commentator. Ai Caramba!

Just for kicks this morning I watched the race on Univision. I was amazed at how much action there is to watch during an F1 race !!!! More seriously, several times during the race I would switch to NBC just fro comparison. On 7 out the nine times I switched, NBC was in commercial. Also, the Univison guys did NOT talk over radio transmissions.

I was a happy to see Varsha replacing the ill Diffey. But, ole Bob was under the weather as well. He was a bit slow to commentate...searching for words...dead silence at times...which meant I had to hear those terrible engine noises.

Yep - well said & very true. but ABC wide world of sports used to show Watkins Glen, and Monaco pretty regularly... and in 78 with Mario they showed the British Gp, and I think Italian GP.

I think Bob is no longer with Fox, so who knows what the future may hold. I like Lee Diffey but he does tend to get a bit "excited" for no reason... afterall he's just trying to make it exciting.

Hobbs & Matchett... while I really like them both as people, I think Hobbs is time to hang up the microphone ... Matchett well, he just says the same things every race... A Gain... either give him more to do & say or bring him in as a color commentator.

Buxton - ugg. I agree he is overly excited child. nice guy, but I just don't get it. everything is super magnified.. for no effect or reason.

I think Bob Varsha is THE voice for F-1 in the USA, like Chris Econamaki used do be.. It would be great to have a more recent F-1 driver in there - David Coulthard, or someone like Alan McNish who kind of knows what is going on... but I;m just glad to see the race!

    No! No! Please!

You must take him back to Australia now.

Can you imagine the scene today when Mark Webber drank the champagne from Daniel Ricciardo's driving shoe?

Diffey would have literally been ****ting his pants!

High marks for Webber by the way, that was classic.
