So after 11 years of ownership, I've finally decided to sell the 348. Picking up a 360 F1 Spider that Tim at Walkersport is selling. I've been looking at it for a while and found myself drawn to it even though I had promised myself no more "black" cars. It was the Carbon seats and Modular wheels that really caught my eye. Plus, I've been hankering after a convertible for a while now and did consider getting an SL350 and keeping the 348. So the deal was done over the phone, without driving or even seeing the car in the metal. No PPI either as the first person I would have asked is Tim anyway. Tim has been sending me pics of the prepp work, which he does with all his clients. Here's the actual car. All pics supplied by Walkersport "An outstanding Ferrari 360 Spider F1, Nero Daytona 506 (Met) with Tan leather and Nero carpets. Only 4 previous owners, Late registered on 23/12/2003. 31300 miles. Nice! The leap is worth it. My car had two previous owners outside of the Ferrari dealers. It had all the books and tools but only one silver key with fob. I will prepare to back that up. Only 8600 miles when I bought it in June. ... Is that colored vinyl for the wheel well guards instead of clear? When the adhesive fails, it picks up all kinds of dirt and holds it. Looks awful against the paint, especially Rosso corsa. I trimmed mine back a little.
You will for sure be happy with the much more comfortable 360. There are a huge difference in the usability and low rev tourqe. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Magic mice Choked OBD1 intake design Boxy design Flip up headlights Long front overhang The only things I really miss are the side strakes for the Testrossa styling. Oh and the price tag. But I made 14K in appreciation from the other driver when totaled Challenge Stradale TCU kicks butt! (plus straight pipes) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plYTjTxxNqQ
I love mine especially with CS TCU. My shift lever was worn for an only 3200 mile car. Likely roll back. But I got to enjoy the gated shifter. It gets old after a while. Double clutching, synchros, redline superlight, using reverse to reset box. Missing a gate due to g forces. I'm feeling that even now with the paddles. Strained my wrist! LOL. Cool thing is, F1 is same pattern, even in 6 speed. Saw this when Craig tuned my PIS. Learned a lot.
Love those seats! Get an exhaust on that thing, the stock exhaust does zero justice to it. Whoever ticked the box on the standard exhaust should be sacked.
Cool pics man, car looks amazing! Congrats again. I am looking forward to seeing more pics and hearing your thoughts on this car after long term 348 ownership.
Finally picked it up on saturday. Will have a lot of fun with it. Only minor issues are that I think the wheels are set in too much and need spacers and the exhaust sounds crap at low revs. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The wheels are set just absolutely right! Do not touch a thing there! Funny that a lot of different car genres develop different triggers for what is hot and what needs fixin. I grew up in the Southern California hot rod and VW scene and there was a lot of effort expended to get the front wheels set "in" in a suped up VW Bug or a street Mustang/Vicky, etc. This Italian beauty comes along with a sunk in front stance and it is absolutely divine. You are showing your inner hillbilly if you move the wheels out. JMHO!
