Thanks for sharing, I have not been following the laferrari thread, but the 70 badge was a nice touch. Anybody have a better image of that ?
Saw the video the other day by chance. Does anyone know how the top works. It appears to be fabric and has some solid structure along the sides next to the top of the door Windows. Probably a manual top and not mechanized
If that's the case, it would be similar to the F50's clip-on soft top. However, the max speed would be then pretty restricted - in the case of the F50 80km/h with the top on.
You mean for LaF Aperta or F50? If F50, the manual says 80km/h, unless there are upgraded versions out there. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144644953-post4.html The soft-top technology has no doubt moved on a bit from 1995.
Just saw another video which answers my question about the top. It is a single piece carbon fiber hard top. So no speed restrictions with it on. I doubt that there is any room to stow it on board.
If that's the case, presumably there is an emergency soft top on board a la F50. This may be the one that others have seen. No doubt all will be revealed shortly.
Am I the only one whose kind of disappointed in the LaPerta? It's literally a laferrari with the roof removed. No styling differences at all. Give me the coupe. At least the Speciale Aperta had the electronically controlled folding hard top.
Well yes because the Speciale A followed the 458 Spyder and the LFA follows the LF-totally understandable. And MUCH more profit if it was even possible.
i agree. the door cut line was one of the most special features of the standard car, not to mention the form flows a lot better with the roof. and how ugly those side mirror arms have become? as a 70 car celebrating the history of ferrari this is far from being special in my book.
I'm a real fan of both the LaFerrari and the LAperta. I too wonder why a folding hardtop wasn't executed. Perhaps too costly to make the change.
Cost definitely, easy money doing a targa but an electric folding roof would have been technically very difficult. The only way I could see it possibly would be as per 575 Superamerica.
