Hello, My name is Scott (0227). I joined F-Chat a few months ago, first post. Ive been tracking and racing sports cars since 1998. I started in an Acura Integra Type R and then moved onto a few ALFA Romeos and a Honda S2000. Ive been wheel to wheel racing with LeMons for a few years in mostly ALFAs. Before that I was doing several HPDEs and other open track events as well as instructing and hosting/running the track days for the Detroit ALFA Club (@200). Im in the process of buying a 360 Ch. Ill likely run it a few times at open track events to get acquainted. Then I plan to race it. My question is what clubs/groups/organizations are people running the 360 Challenge Cars? Ive been looking around at the historic groups and have a few contacts, but I thought those of you racing them might have more info and recommendations. Id prefer to run with other 360 Chs, but am open to others. Like many of you racing them, Im primarily interested in clean running gentlemen racing organizations. More so in having fun than serious competition. Thank You, Scott
Hi Scott and welcome to fchat. I can't tell where you are, so I can't help. Fill out your profile, or post your location, and I'm sure many will be glad to help. Also, check out the tracking and driver education section.
Hi plugzit, I'm currently residing in SE Michigan. I plan to run in the mid west and the east coast, down to possibly Florida. Thanks - Scott
Try Chin events for good track time. FCA events too but not many out there. Chin has limited numbers so never crowded. I stay away from PCA and NASA for HPDE / track time. PCA way too many people. NASA everyone with a Miata or M3 wants to play with the Ferrari on track. For racing it's CCR - others can speak to the fun vs competition you mentioned. I'm sure it's all fun, but most are there to win. Cool CCR videos out there too. Chin Motorsports HPDE Track Days
