People buy art they can’t drive, so I may just keep the Dino for that reason. My wife says, “Of course, you have to keep the cars.” (That's a meeting notice of the local sports car club)

That's a pretty damn cool meeting notice. I want to attend your next one.

I sold a few cars that I regretted and a few I did not. The ones I do regret, I sold either for the wrong reason or too soon. Most often too soon in the sense that I did not do enough with it or did not have a follow-up more suited to take its place.
Not dissimilar to the women in my life come to think of it :D.

There are many cars I seem to regret selling but then I ask myself if I had a chance to turn the clock back and keep the car, regardless of financial consideration, my answer is always no.
Usually selling the car gave me the opportunity to try something different or better. I replaced one dream for another. To me, no car is the end of the rainbow, in fact I never want to find the end of the rainbow.

To me, it's the dream not permanent possesion.

My real regret has been that I hung on to something I was not driving and enjoying much because it delayed my next adventure, automotive or otherwise.

    Tom in SoCal.

Sorry, that was the actual “Graduate” poster. Here is the MSCC version.

My apologies for the digression. Now back to regular programming.

    How about this digression -

Are you still racing sailboats? Have you thought about going to the America's Cup in Bermuda in June 2017?

Or, back to more regular programming - the promotional materials for Cavallino 26 at Palm Beach in January 2017 indicate the following:

Featured Model - 50 Years of the Dino!!!

    Mark (in Seattle)

No, Mark. I’ve not been racing sailboats in a while. I did buy a new boat some three years ago, a neat little 30-footer, seen here after she arrived in Hong Kong. But I haven’t sailed at all this year. I hope to get back on the water soon. The America’s Cup races are quite exciting; they represent a quantum leap in technology. I wouldn't be able to sail those boats, I think!

I have never had the pleasure of sailing in the America's Cup, or of sailing in one of the current class of AC yachts, but back in 1979 I was fortunate enough to be one of the crew of former (1958) AC winner, Columbia, participating in the first 12 metre World Championship series. Probably the most exciting experience of my sailing career.

Fantastic, John. I am envious. I love those boats still. They are like our Dinos. So beautiful.

I was able to be a 17th man on an American Cup challenger yacht during the challenges in New Zealand. Allenghi won the right to challenge and eventually the cup.

I sold my Dino and do not regret it. Too many cars to try.

I sold my Porsche 356 after a complete nuts and bolts for this reason. I'm doing my 308 and 246 differently. Hopefully I'll drive them more.
