Don't think! Speciale all the way, all day, every day!!!
Totally agree. The cleaner look completely accentuates the unique features of the Speciale, whereas They seem to get buried under the livery. I've always been surprised how few "stripeless" cars there are. I find it much more appealing without.
There was a poll a couple years ago on fchat about stripes/no stripes on Speciales. Two out of three preferred stripes. Doesn't matter, the car looks great no matter the color, stripe or no stripe. But it's common knowledge that Ferrari tweaks the ECUs on cars with stripes so they go just a bit faster than stripeless cars :-j
Stripe less. My friends old Speciale....still my favorite. My cars: 2013 Ferrari 458 Spider 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet ........Only 2 worth mentioning.

For raw driving emotion you should have gone with the Speciale. Are you going to drive this car daily? If so the 488. If you want a raw driving experience NA V8 every so often the Speciale is the way to go. My dealer first told me before the 488's debut that the 458 is a better car for normal drivers and he's even more convinced the 458 is a better road car. The 488 is simply too BREAK NECK F__KING fast to drive on the road and really enjoy without killing yourself. It utterly destroys the Hurracan and the Hurracan is the best Lambo ever made.
For a first time guy? Sounds like the Speciale is okay for beginners, but once you are ready to take the training wheels off then go for a real Ferrari like the 488 :-j IMHO, the only reason a 458 Speciale might not be the best choice for a first time Ferrari owner is that he may not fully appreciate just how "special " the 458 Speciale is and it's place in Ferrari history.
Isn't the important part of owning an Aperta the driving experience? As was said, what's the point of owning a car you won't use?
What's the point in owning Art on your wall?? How do you 'use' that? Limited Ferrari's are Art. Just knowing you have it is a big part of the 'enjoyment'. Having said that, keep that battery charged 😉 Ps: lucky enough to spec a Speciale as my 'first' as well 😃
