The funny thing with the F40 is that you see just how well made things like the front spare wheel well is produced in carbon kevlar, with perfect weave alignment then in contrast how shocking the rear fender has been moulded with basic rough fibreglass strand mat on the edges, which is simply painted black to hide it!
Clear anodized. To follow the full cars build please check this thread. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/288gto-f40-f50-enzo-laferrari/533540-bradan-f40-mechanical-restoration.html
The car didn't come in with the USA sprayed on the control arms. I think when we looked into it there was a range of production numbers affected by a defective control arm style that could lead to the wheel breaking off. So Ferrari supplied the affected cars with new control arms that had USA stenciled on. Most cars had them installed early in life. This car is a late production car which I think was built after the affected serial number. It's been awhile though I could be wrong but we didn't have anything to copy the script off regardless.
The question has to be asked, a car with only 4600 miles why did it need a "nut & bolt restoration"? It must have had a REALLY hard 4600 miles! Or as they say, "rode hard & put away wet".
The car has been cared for extensively and meticulously since birth. I'm obsessive about my cars and they are certainly over maintained!
what's incredible is people kill brain cells trying to read in between the lines when there is absolutely no basis. the car is 26 yrs old. one person think it wasn't driven enough and another thinks it was driven too hard? my question is does anyone actually own these cars and maintain them? I certainly do.
