The Crepaldi sticker is cool because I recently discovered my car was sold new there. However, had I purchased it then, the sticker would have come off immediately.

    Too true.

Although I own the rare "Monterey Ferrari" licence plate frame, I can't bear to put it on the car. To my eye, its pretty ugly. Despite its aesthetic challenges, it is still worth several hundred dollars. Yeah; go figure.

Does anyone has one of "Symbolcar Torino" ?
I've never seen a sticker of that dealer, but need one to recreate it for my 208 turbo GTB, wich was new delivered there.

    Any picture much appreciated

Well, the Pozzi sticker certainly does NOT, just because, as I wrote above, of the spelling of the phone number: this is the tell-tale for the Pozzi stickers...

The sticker illustrated on your picture dates from the second part of the eighties, more precisely after October 25th, 1985...and not before:
    - see the (1) 4X XX XX XX spelling for the phone number: the first number between brackets is the prefix for the region (here "1" is precisely Paris and the Ile-de-France region) then eight numbers by four pairs: the prefix "1" in brackets associated to the "4" as the first of the eight numbers, is specific to Paris and Ile-de-France (so correct for Pozzi) but was NEVER used in that form before October 25th, 1985...
So that sticker is not from the sixties!

A sticker from the seventies would have only seven numbers grouped three / two / two: XXX.XX.XX
A sticker from the sixties would be completly different again.

Thanks for the clarification. Since the sticker was on a 330GT, I assumed that it was original to the car. Perhaps it was sold as a used car later by Pozzi and the sticker went on then.

The phone number would have been spelled only in seven figures, i.e: "739.96.50" from about 1968 to 1985, the system of phone numbers having been completly updated on October 25th, 1985, by the addtion of a prefix in brackets for the region, i.e (1) for Paris and the region, and another number in front of the seven existing figures, which here is "4" for Paris and its suburb.
I'm not exactly sure for before "1968 or so": the stickers may heve used the older combination from the fifties, which was a name and then two pairs of numbers, for instance the famous "Balzac 00 01".

This assuming the car has been sold by the main dealership in Paris / Levallois, not by a dealership of the network in one of the Provinces.

The change in the phone numbering coincides almost exactly with the arrival of the 328 on the market, but Pozzi used some older stickers on the first cars, (i.e, stickers with seven figure phone numbers) using the stock of already printed stickers until exhaustion.

The famous yellow Pozzi sticker was disused at the end of the nineties.

Very true!! I have found myself tracking down my original rear window sticker recently when years ago it would have found its way in the bin before the engine got cold from its first drive home. How times have changed. I guess that's why it makes it unique as only a few thought to keep them on at the time.

Sometimes ugly things are unique for a good reason. Dealers rarely have the design skills to match factory badging. There's a constant battle to get dealerships to follow manufacturer marketing guidelines. It's become better the last couple of decades, but the majority of these decals were thrown in the trash because that's exactly where they belong.

Very true, but I think many people look back to nostalgia to take them back to the good old days. Having the original sticker on the car can be a nice reminder of a long gone dealership or in my case a dealership I always loved to visit and ultimately wanted buy a new Ferrari from as a child. Years later I own the car I always wanted from the dealership I always visited.

Update: I was vocal in saying I would have removed the dealer sticker had I purchased a new 308 back in the day. However, I came upon this browsing ebay and couldn't resist for $4. Probably won't put it on my rear glass but it's nice to have.

I think it looks really cool, great to have in your owners paperwork even if you don't fit it. As I said, I tracked down a copy of my original dealer sticker too.
That's why I love this forum, makes you think of things that you otherwise may never have thought of before in regards to your car.

An additional point of view from me. While I wouldn't care about any other dealer sticker, my Pozzi sticker reminds me of the great motor racing history of that dealer. When I look at it I see those great Michelotto Gr.4 GTBs during the Tour de France, Daytonas and 512 BB LM at Le Mans, or Gilles Villeneuve at the french GP in his 312 T4 with a Pozzi sticker on the car :)
So I'm somehow proud to have a car delivered new by that dealer.
A german Auto Becker sticker I would still tear away as fast as possible, because it reminds me more of 70s celebrities and gold chain people gatherings.

    Best Regards
    Martin

    ehm ... disagree !

For Bruno (nerofer) f.e. it's great to have a "pozzi-car", because it's a "indigenous-car" like the "Crepaldi-car" is for Alberto . For me (as for you, Martin) a "indigenous-car" is from Autobecker Düsseldorf only.

I am very proud of my 1980 308GT4 delivered at my 12th birthday by Auto Becker. ;)

    So are the different tastes.
I couldn't care less about being 'indigenous' regarding the dealer. No matter where it has been sold, it's an italian car. But being 6 mls. distant from the french border with myriads of french registered cars on our roads it's almost indigenous :)

I have a rather different opinion of marque dealerships, having dealt with them for many years on an international and national level. Maybe that's why I don't like dealer stickers. The Pozzi one is probably amongst the most benign I've seen. It's still too yellow, though, so unless you have a Giallo Fly 308 it detracts hugely from the rest of the car.

Especially when looking at that gorgeous curved rear window. With an in-your-face sticker glued there, the body styling all but disappears. People no longer say "wow, look at that elegant curved glass". They say "ooh, Pozzi" or "ooh, Crepaldi".

For years and years I resisted having anything on my back window. I always loved that fresh, virgin, out of the factory look. I even hated to have compulsory number plates on the car. But years later I can appreciate things like subtle dealer stickers, and due to the age of our cars now, these can look quite retro in todays modern world.

    Well Markus: agreed and agreed:
-my April 5th, 1989 328 GTB #81085 was delivered new, and in Paris, by Pozzi Levallois.
-my February 24th, 1989 GTS #80515 was delivered on March 30th, "somewhere in Germany" (I don't know the history of that car), by Autobecker Düsseldorf...

And in a way I'm "somewhat" indigenous to France and Germany, from the story of my family, annexed to Germany from 1870 to 1918, then again from 1940 to 1945.
And just like Martin "on the other side", the border is 5 kms from the family house, and I can go to Germany by foot in a hour.
And the nicest "Schwimmbad" nearest my home is in Germany.

And this is mirrored in my cars.

"Crepaldi" here in Italy is a legendary sticker. Once (in the eighties) a saw a commercial advertise on a car magazine of Crepaldi dealership with the famous writing "Crepaldi is only Ferrari since 1953". I dreamed a lot about one day to be able to go there and buy a Ferrari (at those times I owned a twin cylinder small car...). Unfortunately I even never went to Milan to see Crepaldi dealership. But now I own three cars sold by them: better than nothing... ;)

My car came from Ferrari of Los Gatos, too. Sadly, I do not have the sticker, although the rear window is original. :(
