In reality the difference is negligible small, barely perceptible and makes the car definitely not slower. ;)

All 08s and early 09s (before July from what I remember) have this mismatch issue. One of the big reasons I paid a little more for a late 09 build 5yrs ago.

There is also the sagging roof issue w 08s and early 09s.

My 08' scud doesn't have that issue... Maybe because the interior is leather...:))

My 08 scud with 12,000 miles and full leather interior is perfect.

Sounds like leather was the way to go for 08s ;)

Well, as I said - mine is 08 with alcantara and I also don't have this issue...

I have the mismatched airbag and drooping roof in my late 08. Car has never been in an accident.

I would guess the mismatch comes from different supply issues with the airbag.

Drooping roof? Is that a thing for these cars? First I've heard of this one.

FWIW, I have an alcantara '08 with matching airbag cover. The mismatched cars must have been a different batch.

Yah it is the cloth panel above the window in the rear of the cabin which looks into the engine bay. The fabric droops down there...not the entire roof. It's a simple fix, but shows really poor (I mean charming) finishing skills.

The mismatching airbag upholstery and the sagging roof stuff are common, so bless your lucky stars your car is the exception.

The sagging roof is an easy & relatively cheap fix. The airbag gets pricey, probably why most folks just leave it alone

Personally speaking, the airbag mismatch is kind of neat. Sort of like a "correct for this part of the run" feature. If it didn't have it, I would wonder if it were replaced.

The replacement probably won't match either, as singletrack has already mentioned =) So, I think it would be a false positive either way.

now we just need to know the production numbers of cars with mismatched airbags as they may be more rare and more $$$ in the future! haha
