The install went flawlessly; tech was very good at hiding all wires (for SAT) and the receiver. I do have an issue with "hiss" whenever the unit is on, so I have to take it back for that. I love the Alpine - a real breeze to set stations, switch between modes, etc.

With the Alpine installed does the info still show on the dash LCD?

Walter -- can you get the directions from your Becker's nav function to appear on the dash? If so, how do you do that? Thanks. Frank

If you're talking about the TFT display, the answer is no. The unit is isolated from the TFT, no communication between the two.

I wasn't able to check but noticed in the manual: "the repetition function of the navigation data and pictograms on the TFT display of the instrument panel may be activated in all the positions of the master switch by calling up the "Display settings" menu and selecting "Navigation repetition" option and setting this function to "ON SPORT/ON ALL/OFF"

Thank you for posting a good replacement for the standard 599 radio, as stated it is diabolical.
How well does the Alpine fit, is it flush?
Any pics of the installation would be greatly appreciated.
    Again thanks,
    Grant B

Do you have the Bose system ?
Is the sound with the Alpine better than the sound with the Becker unit ?

Yes, I have the Bose system. After the Alpine install, I had "floor noise" (per the audio guys), a soft hissing sound whenever the unit was on (not electrical interference). I had to have the main amp replaced also. If I ignored the hiss, the sound was already improved over the Becker, but now it sounds even better! Well worth it in my opinion.
