Sounds reasonable, especially if they're not intended for critical or continual professional use.
I just have inherent dislike of anything Made in "There", be it automotive related, clothing, household goods or shop equipment/tools, etc, and usually go out of my way not to buy such.
I've been acquiring tools and equipment for decades and while vast majority I have are Snap On and alike, I know there are some slightly obscure brands with better value, like these tool/storage cabinets (with almost 200,000 cu. in. useable drawer space): Swiss brand/design, U.S. manufactured with lifetime warranty and twice the quality for 1/3 price of Snap On or similar commonly known high-end brands.
Most of the "inexpensive import" tools I have were either given to me and, if not promptly thrown into dumpster, were deemed perhaps usefull enough for something someday or I was "forced" to buy due to nothing better available.
I often also have to make "specialty" tools and if it requires modifying/sacrifying some existing standard tool, I prefer starting with quality brands.
Just couple of weeks ago, I had to make yet another "specialty" tool and "sacrificed" an Craftsman socket, but when later went to Sears for a replacement, discovered they're now "Made in C#*@%". Obviously, didn't buy it.

    Timo - nice rig :)

Those look like Lista cabinets - that's what we have in our shop.

Being a manufacture myself, I'd love to make all purchases via US manufactures but sometimes it's just not practical..

And, we are going OT here but just coz it's made in the US, don't assume it's better as the overseas manufactures (many) do a great job. I can assure you in this case, the quality is every bit as good as the Snap On branded item made in the US.

Not joking, it is used with impact tool. The set that Baum sells is not for impact use anymore. That is OK.

But, I just got off the phone with Hydramec wanting to buy a 11mm x 1mm collet and the President of the company told me they cannot sell direct and I have to go through Snap On for a quote.

That is so strange in light of the what they told you Dave.

Mitch, I would not use an impact gun with a tool like this (for this application). But, that is me :)

When I called them, Hydramec, the girl asked me "where are you located?" That might be the ticket or maybe she did not know. I can call again for you if you like but we should probably wait until they forget your call.
