I get my information from the fact that I've been running the baffle for 10 years and have to run 3 to 4 quarts over full to not starve.

Honestly... 15 years/thousands of miles on the track and you never had an instructor in the passenger seat or a mechanic tell you how to get rid of the understeer? Maybe you are a victim this ridiculous statement that is posted here regularly: "My insert: (mechanic, mother, boyfriend, kid, private driving coach that I pay $2k/day for) tells me the 308 understeers and there's nothing you can do about it because of chassis rigidity" .

Different people have different reasons for doing track days. If you were giving advice on a Porsche forum with 15 years on the track people would ask you about your car setup ... sometimes I forget how weird and sensitive this Ferrari crowd is.

I've bragged/shared about my ignition setup in several threads. You can do what others do if you need more details. PM or email.

    Enjoy your Sunday everyone!

    cheers

For anyone reading this and has had to deal with the oil issue, please ignore this post and install the windage tray.

Only time I really need a windage tray is when I eat too much Mexican food :)

Windage tray installed ... Oh wait I did that 10 years ago. Was a huge difference on the track. I've never had to over fill even when we run a circuit backwards. I look at the tray as a bandaid, the cure would be a dry sump, but don't see the need for the extra cost. I've only seen a drop once or twice, usually due to some "moron" running a couple quarts low. Anyway "To mod or not to mod?" Mod. :)

That's just it. This modification harms nothing at all. Only helps (very much actually)

It has absolutely no downside, like installing a headlight relay harness. It is only either the same or better, never ever worse. No downside whatsoever.

I am curious if the cam belt cover mod is also like the windage tray where it can only help. I am considering installing this on my 75 GT4 the next time I do the belts.

I had to dig deep in the archives to find the discussions about it. Maybe they are no big deal because everyone has them but me, or maybe there are some downside I don't know about.

Is this mod considered a standard must do? Thanks, Paul

I think it's better than not having it mod.
