When it came out it cost GB Pounds £ 15. There were no computers, no internet, no amazon and no ebay, back in 1982. Nowadays people pay up to US$ 600 for a copy of my 250 LM book. Let me go down to the basement now to check if I have a couple hundred left........my pension fund perhaps? We printed 5'000 copies, they are all sold out since decades.
Yes, and before anybody asks, I know I should publish a 2nd edition, totally updated. And no, I have none in the basement. Period.
You can perhaps buy a copy from Hortons Books in the UK.

Yes, it was £14.95 GB Pounds net. I paid many times more than that for my copy which I treasure. Please, please make a second edition, Marcel!!!

    Northern California.

5909 has gone through a lot of hands over the years. Ed Niles owned it twice. I had use of it for about 2 months back in 1978. Then owner was in Northern California, not far from current owner. Got a lot of miles over the globe between those two California owners though.

Yes Marcel, if need further encouragement to undertake an updated version.

I should add, that your original efforts in creating this book are commendable. It is so much easier to research information now although we have and are losing the original people of the day.

That must have been a great experience, Jeff. Interesting from Marcel's book is that one of 5909's owners kept his dog in it. Lucky dog!!!

Poor dog. Heat, when hot outside, is almost unbearable. Acceptable when self inflicted as driver/owner, but totally unacceptable for a faithful companion!

Ahh, yes you are absolutely right of course. I didn't think enough. I envisaged the LM was in a garage under cover with doors open and the dog just jumped in. No dog/animal is safe for any time in a car, especially an LM. An LM would be too hot when driving for a dog too with how hot they get inside with oil and water pipes running through cockpit area plus engine right behind.

You left out NOISY! I equated it to siting inside a tin can with someone betting on the outside with a hammer.

Not saying it wasn't fun but I am not aware of ear plugs for dogs.

Yes, an important consideration is noise for the very sensitive hearing of a dog.
