Who's going? Looks like Saturday is an Italian car day of sorts... I'll be there with 5 cars from our collection, on Sunday. Meetup maybe?
I can't make it on Saturday but I'll be there on Sunday. (BTW, there was already a thread on this: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/south-central-usa-tn-ms-al-ga/530581-macchine-da-sogno-italiano-2016-atlanta-concours-delegance.html)
I'll be there Saturday. Just got off the phone with FoA about their test drives; they'll have the black 488 there, but no test drives They're only test driving a few Maserati's... I scheduled mine for the Ghibli...
George I always meant to send you this photo from years back. Sincerely Vic Image Unavailable, Please Login
What a lovely day for a car event! The judges should have given Mother Nature a blue ribbon. And I ran into familiar faces like Alan Boe, Jim Weed, Ivan Ruiz and Will Campbell. I heard that about 90 cars were on the fairway; at least a dozen more that had been invited failed to show, for obvious reasons, due to Hurricane Matthew. (In fact, the upcoming Hilton Head Concours may not happen this year.) Here are some of the Italian cars which were in the field. The F12tdf is a 1/8-scale Amalgam model, a limited edition which is available for over $7k. The winners! Although I did not stay for the announcement of the winners, when I went through the field again after lunch, these cars had blue ribbons on them. I was particularly impressed by the Frua-bodied Maserati 3500GT. P.S. A food recommendation. If you ever have the opportunity to buy from a food truck called simply The French Truck, do so. I've had crepes from them at some of the weekly food truck gatherings in Smyrna throughout the summer, and at the Concours they had some things not on the menu at Smyrna. The beef bourguignon was superb, even if it was served in a cardboard box! https://www.facebook.com/frenchtruck/
Jim, I have to concur! The French Truck was fantastic! Who knew?!? Thanks all for the kind words about the Maserati. I cannot say enough about the car, it is truly fantastic. The amazing part that most don't know is that it's a 14+ year old restoration... Keith Duly deserves tremendous credit for the fantastic workmanship. I'm so glad that the event was a success. Atlanta has been needing a high end event like this for quite some time. With a little tweaking and effort I believe this event stands to become an Atlanta staple event.
John, Ivan, Alan, and all the participants, thanks so much for bringing such beautiful cars to the show field. The organizers did a fabulous job and made their first event a good one. I look forward to seeing what next year brings.
I saw Ivan's Ghibli spyder driving back to Dawsonville Saturday afternoon. Thing of beauty. Superb 5000gt. What a color combo. perfect. I live less than 2 miles from Chateau Elan but had familial obligations preventing my attendance. Man I would have loved to be present though!
I was there Saturday in my 190sl. Next year, as only having it for three weeks at this point, I'll have to bring the Mondial T Coupe as well. The variety of cars, people, and weather was perfect! Best, Cody p.s. my 190sl won peoples choice from the MBCA Peachtree section Saturday - now the pressure is on for next year *
Congrats! I love that color on the 190SL. There's only one other MB that I like more than the 190, and it wasn't there Saturday...
I was there on Saturday. Only took a few random pics. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Some of the German cars on Sunday. The last two, of course, were in the vendor area. I'm impressed with the look of the new Panamera - it looks rather like a stretched, 4-door 911, which is what it should have looked like in the first place. I tried it on - the back seat still has plenty of headroom. Thank you. Would be great to meet up in either German or Italian cars one day. Wish I could of made it back up on Sunday, looks like there were some wonderful cars on the lawn. The 300sl roadsters is one of my all time favorites.
That 600 Pullman is in my opinion the classiest Limo ever made. My favorite color as well. Power black. Dave
