But if they make it - as other people on here have stated - a lot more sporty, it could finally be the perfect complement to an FF ..... Needs to lose some weight though by forsaken comfort for me to be truly interested
My dealers pre orders, even now, are well in excess of 2 years and he anticipates 3 years at launch. I think Camlet may be right though.
I suspect Ferrari Northern Europe is hedged against currency fluctuations at least for a year or two. I suspect they will find it harder to raise prices much on existing models but i think they will consider raising the price quite considerably for new models like the F12M.
How many of those pre order buyers would still buy if they were forced by contract penalty to keep the new car for a year from the delivery date before they could re-sell it? I agree the pound is much more in our favour than yours these days at $1.61 cdn.
I fear that we are sitting in somewhat of a car bubble right now with cheap money and weak currency that sent some of the Canadian product down to the US - everything seems to be holding on strong. Currently I see more buyers then cars simply based on the 458 to 488 example, up to 2 years for a spyder and 18 months for coupe. This will hold the F12 prices strong for a very long time because it will take them up to a year to just deliver cars to Canada etc. Myself I am shooting for a Lusso replacement of the FF and then when the F12 prices soften (when is key) I would like to add one or a 488 coupe.
For some of us, you still prefer to have the steering wheel on the wrong side....😀 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When you think back over the past 10-20 years, there are so many really truly great cars that have been produced, we could look back and see this as a glut of supercars. But I think the F12 is so good that I would look at where the 599 is and expect to see a solid premium.
I am not sure that 10 inch screen from Lusso would fit nicely in F12. On other side, full digital cockpit like we saw on Audi TT would be awesome! http://s3.caradvice.com.au/thumb/770/382/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/DSC8261.jpg
What a terrible idea IMO. Nothing dates a car more than ancient display technology which all displays become - rapidly.
Analogue dials are great, but I am afraid that is matter of past time. Just like we saw with Ferrari manual gearbox being replaced with automatic one...
Same can be said for tachs and speedometers. Look at the gauges on a 360. Looks like ****. Look at the LP640 gauges. Hideous. Technology changes and so does style. A F12 speedometer might look just as bad in 15 years as a 360 does now.
I completely agree on this! However, we can find some exceptions in automotive industry. Aston Martin`s speedometers are timeless art pieces! Level of precise craftsmanship is incredible. https://s11.postimg.org/xj5hj47wj/aston_martin_v12_vantage_s_roadster_us_spec_2.jpg
Don't disagree about Aston Martin, and Andy Palmer is doing a great job. But IMO it's very poor to open a DB11's hood and the first thing you see are huge ugly chunks of metal sitting across and above the engine to strengthen the body. Something you don't see in modern Ferraris.
I am glad there are people who notice those details I have exact same complaint on DB11, since I expected similar solution we saw on One 77: http://www.designnn.co/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/aston-martin-one-77-engine-big-resolution-intended-for-aston-martin-one-77-engine.jpg
Ferrari would not be Ferrari without a large tachometer center of the drivers zone. That has to and likely will stay...the rest is up for grabs
The only analog gauge in the F12 is the tach which is very well done while the rest are huddled nicely around it and are small virtual analog-style. I think this will age very nicely. Would much prefer all high quality analog for this price point but many disagree. Cheap analog gauges are actually much worse than anything else as those have been the standard in commuter cars for ages. Also don't like the cheap analog gauges in many of the past supercars. They do look very dated.
A DB11 fully loaded must be close to 200 GBP in the UK. So hardly cheap. Perhaps the vast majority of people buying the DB11 will not bother looking under the hood? And if they did perhaps they wouldn't even notice what looks like the superstructure of the Tay Bridge in front of them. It would be bother me. More likely it's just me being me
Most Aston buyers figure themselves as the James Bond type and aren't bothered with what's under the hood
