    Hi

Did I read somewhere that when a car is 25 years old the US rules make it a 'classic' and restrictions on importing and emissions (from outside the US) change. I've a LHD 512TR and may want to advertise it in the US market one day (not for a good while though :))

    Any thoughts or comments appreciated

    Thanks.

Yes it is true. Once a car is over 25 years old it is much easier to import into the US. There are a few threads on here about this.

Don't think twenty five years has elapsed yet for a 512TR. I imported a 1987 Testarossa from Canada, last year and it was easy. If you don't constantly bring in goods, there's even a discount on duty for one time purchasers (importers) . Guess you're golden if your car is a 1991 but you've got to wait a few months more for a 1992. Another year or two if your cars newer.
