2011 458, Saturday my exhaust valves are either not working or stuck open. I am not complaining too much as it sounds great down low now. Should I be concerned? Anyone had this happen?

Saved you the trouble from disconnecting the vaccuum lines. If you don't like the sound you can have this "fixed".

I suspect if there were problems you would get a CEL and other warnings. Perhaps you should get this looked at next time you take the car in for service.

My lines are disconnected by the dealer. Never heard of any problems doing this. Nobody has complained to me about the sound. I love it. Sounds like a proper fcar to me now.

The only sound issue id say is if you were on a distance interstate drive the note is a bit loud for the wife. LOL

The only issue is why it's stuck open. If the valve itself is physically stuck, that's not a big deal. But if a vacuum line has come undone, the vacuum leak is a problem that needs attention. (The valves are open if no vacuum is applied to them. This is why the car is noisy at startup, until vacuum builds to overcome the spring pressure on the valves and close them.). That said, it seems unlikely it's a vacuum leak, as you'd likely get a CEL if that is the problem.

I would get it checked out, and perhaps order an exhaust valve controller
    for ultimate flexibility

No CEL and the car actually feels more responsive for whatever reason. I welcome it other than the wife not liking the drone at 75mph on the highway.

Move to Colorado...80 mph speed limit. :)

Buy some earplugs for your wife. Or get her a pda with earphones. :D

Or get a new wife. That's what l did. My old wife would not ride in my car with the top down cuz it "messed up her hair." She had dozens of scarves but would not use them. My present wife loves to drive with the top down and has her own converible. She also will only drive a stick shift. You can be happy too!

Is it difficult to disconnect the vacuum line? It's actually pretty annoying to have it open close open close the whole time.

My understanding is that the rear diffuser must be removed to get to the lines. When pulled the lines need to be plugged with something like a golf tee. Turn on the engine to make sure you did it right. Replace the rear diffuser.

Some dealers will do this for free.

I installed the forza exhaust bypass and 2nd time only took 30 minutes. First time was a struggle as it was learning experience. I would think Ferrari charges 1-2 hours, totally worth it IMHO.
