Appraisal

Can anyone suggest a knowledgeable appraiser in the Niagara area? Also, what would an appraisal typically cost?

Bramhall is a credible fellow, he has been around and dealt with serious collectors. I can't recall his cost, I had an appraisal done for insurance purposes, but I probably don't recall as it was very reasonable.

I had mine done 15 page detailed document, pictures, market comparisons etc.. for $75.
had it to me within couple hours the same day... insurance company accepted it without question..

this is a known industry guy in Montreal.. so unfortunately not a help for you in Niagara..

but hopefully a help in price point.. to compare in your area..

$500 for a car evaluation is way out of line ridiculous..

 

I am mistaken, it did cost me about $75-$100

I was thinking what my insurance rate was after the appraisal when I went with Silver Wheel (they want an appraisal)

 

Bramhall is great and his stories make the fee look like a bargain. I always enjoy spending time with Maurice and he is an asset to the community. Highly recommended.

 

Thank you all for the replies. The appraisal is for insurance. I'm currently with Hagerty through Lant and I think the $1400 premium is ridiculous for a car that spends most of it's time in my garage and is driven 500km/year.

I agree. I had him do a Ferrari that I sold. I also did a dealer appraisal for him a couple of times (That's the simpler Ministry appraisal sometimes needed). Cool bloke.

Anybody using somebody other than Bramhall around Toronto/GTA? The last appraisal I received from him, he did charge $450 plus HST, so $508.50. There has to be a more cost effective way to get this taken care of?

About half the price. Anybody use them before?

 

I did in 2017. I think I paid around 130. It was accepted with no problems by my insurance company. I took a bunch of pics, sent him a brief description, and he produced a report a day later.
