HI all, I am struggling to solve a TPMS failure I bought the car with new OEM sensors (part of the deal) at an F garage, they installed them only now but twice already the TPMS failed the day after it came back from the dealer So it works one day and the next day when I start the car it says failure go to workshop ( something like this). Calibration does not work either When I went back the the second time the dealer said the fault saved in the memory says, "voltage too low", so I drove home and hooked up the car on the charger. Next day same thing happened ... Any idea ? Thanks
Voltage too low is probably referring to the sensor battery voltage so your charger isn't going to do anything. You may just have got very unlucky with your replacement sensor(s)
That sounds very possible, I did not think about it since sensors are new and put in the wheels by Ferrari. Can they see which sensor has the low voltage or do they have to change all 4 of them ? I guess I will struggle to have them accepting that sensors could be wrong Will keep you posted on the results
Yes, the SD3 can access the individual wheel sensors and also read estimated battery life remaining. In theory, the sensors do not activate until pressure exceeds ~25 psi, but I am not sure what the actual shelf life is.
My F chief Mechanic proposes me a new TPMS ECU, He is fairly senior and I guess he read the sensor value before proposing this. Sometimes tells me that he does not know this issue and doing trial and error Did anyone hear of a TPMS ECU failing ? Funny thing is that once the garage makes a reset it will work one full day with several starts and then fails the next day... I will keep you posted, the ECU should arrive soon
TPMS ECU do fail , in perspective , with the volume of cars we work with, we replace one a month +/- So its not uncommon , there is a straight forward diagnosis process , using the SD3 PM me if we can help, from a distance! S
