One will be in the shop for something. Having some paint issues with my new FF. Doesn't Ferrari have quality controls to find these issues beforehand? They are repainting my entire door. A bit of a pain as the car is out of commission for 2 weeks. Still have the 458 to enjoy.

Ferrari has poor quality control in regards to paint and as long as they have a list of people buying their cars sight unseen they won't ever care to change it. If you order a historical color for the $20k-$30k markup, then you tend to get a better paint job because it's done by an outside company.

Which is not always better!!! I've had to send my car with a 3-layer paint back to Zanasi to have the clear coat sorted and still had to have paint correction work done!!!!! Annoying at best

I fully agree with OP. My new FF is at the dealers workshop, was getting a few things sorted out, then a mechanic decided to reverse out from a parkingplace outside the shop and YES he had an "incident" (as it is called by the shop, "it's human..."). So I am getting a new rear bumper, painted and all that. It has been at the dealer from 30th of August - stil no date when I will get it back.......

I need a 2nd car, question is: Will a Ferrari do, or should I safe and get a MB S Class Coupe AMG 65 or something?

I'm supposed to be selling my 2013 FF to make way for my March delivery F12. I have looked at various replacements but the fact is that none of them can replace the FF. I will probably end up with a Maserati Levante or similar but already know I'll regret selling the FF.

Yes, this is correct. Its almost impossible to predict if your paint job will be good or just OK. I've had both. I've yet to have a truly terrible paint job. And I've seen some, not at this price level, but I have seen some really horrible paint work direct from major automakers..... I've also had cars from other marques where the paint work is noticeably better but I just don't love the car itself. So in my mind, I ask would I rather have the car I love with an acceptable - good paint job; or an out of this world paint job on a car I don't really care about.

The Levante with a NA V8 would be nice, but wife does NOT like it at all, so no risk... As I wrotein another thread: a F12 Spider would be nice, or a FF Spider....

Dont care about paint quality - I scratch it over time and it gets parking dings etc anyway

Reason you need two imo - a daily driver and an old Ferrari with an open gate .... Had to sell my 355, but will have another clack clack car one at some point (hopefully)

    Alternative reasonings: a V12 and a V8, a 4-seater and a 2-seater

You can never have too many ferraris .....

I think you will if you do not (really) need an SUV / a car to tow stuff with.....

Well I have a Range Rover Sport when both ferraris fail. So yes you need 2 ferraris and a normal/utility car as well.

LOL! We have a backup car for when our Range Rover fails!

(to be fair, the newer Rangies are better)

Actually I've owned my range Rover Sport for 4 yrs and it's been the most reliable vehicle, not one problem with it. My audi r8 saw more shop time than any car, also had problems with my 07 Porsche 911s. Ferraris aren't that bad as long as you replace the batteries.

Ahh finally my Ferrari FF is okay - now the only problem is that people don't seem to understand that when we get 50cm of snow in a couple of hours, well then you should leave your car at home, especially if you have summer tires... My FF has winters, however since people don't seem to get the idea of winter tires, well I am just that afraid to bring my FF back home... There are tons of accidents here in Stockholm - people with summer tires.... People with small children and summer tires, and half a meter of snow - right...

I thought winter tires are mandatory in most countries there starting around this time of the year.
