Ugh, that 1/12 250 TR really looks off. What is going on?

It's the 58 LeMans winner, 0728. Most significant early TR there is. Pontoons didn't win big races. Aero sucked. I've driven a few, lift is spooky over 100. Hill won. First Ferrari win since 53. Started the 60 61 62 63 64 65 run. Damn Stirling in the DBR broke a nice streak. Morons at Ferrari to scared to factory race against Porsche, Audi now. Wimps.

Lol. 0728 still has Bardinons Mas du Clos badge on it. Merritt traded it to Bardinon for 0742 pontoon and ex Rodriguez 196 Dino. We bought 0742 from Dick in 82 or so. I drove it on the beltway in DC in the rain before we bought it. Fun car. Better after we went thru it. Went to Price later in a big multi car trade, and we got Chizars 0718 with another trade deal. Got original motor for that from Lovely. That was a very good car. Still, steering got very wonky driven hard and fast. Brake hard before corners, set nose, and power thru like a 911.

Kit looks decent to me, but wtf do I know? :D

Certainly a very significant Ferrari. So far the overall body shape is close, though does not win the cigar yet. Images shown are of the cad model, and with viewing that, there are many subtleties and nuances to the shape that when compared to the car, are not correct. Some may be corrected in final output, and or if they fix the pattern by hand. Hope to see improvements with final product.

They are simple for the price, and not always perfect but still good. Example, the Studio 27 XJR14 is not nearly as accurate or detailed as the Lemans Miniatures kit.

Based on the price the Lemans 1958 winning TR is only a highly detailed curbside and the pontoon a full kit. Must be an experiment wich I think might be a good idea. These full kits take to long to build even if you do it full time!!

That is a lot of very heavy white metal attaching to some resin......

I agree...same issue that I had with the GTO, it requires some reinforcement.

The closed fender 250 TR looks pretty good, but the nose could be a little thick(although I see a shadow on the top of the nose that could be distorting the pictures). We will have to see it in person. This idea might work on some cars. Let's be realistic, it is a full time job building all the Hiro full detail kits. A few curbside models will help get them built in a more timely manner :) Also the Yen has been going up, so keeps kit cost down.

I am only guessing but I would put money on the odds MFH will do cars to go along with these drivers. I also hope they do standing 1/12th scale figures of the drivers.

For 1/12th scale that would mean a Ferrari F2 1952/1953, Mercedes W196, Lancia/Ferrari D50, Maserati 250F, their first Maserati, Ferrari 246, Several Coopers and a Brabham along with a Ferrari 156 Sharknose are planned.

Hiro are also doing several driver figures in 1/43rd, 1/24th and 1/20th scales.

Immense Miniatures is talking about doing 1/12th figures, and they are just as good as the Hiro figures for less than half the price. I.M. says the first might be Jim Clark.
