Did you see how they removed that engine...car stays on the floor in front and only back side is lifted.

    MYSTERY SOLVED!

The previous owner of the engine had the cylinder heads rebuilt (by an idiot) and after that didn't manage to start the car...

The reason is that many of the valves did not seal off the cylinder chamber, so there was still some opening through which the fuel could escape. So in fact, the fuel ran through the cylinders into the exhaust and was ignited there (Guido was my witness). The guy who did the rebuild some years ago removed some material from the valvas to make it all fit (yeah right!) with the seats and guides.

The heads will be send over to an 'adjuster' in a couple of days.

The good news is that the belts did not snap, the valves are not bend and there are no other parts broken in this.

In fact, you can see on the picture here above that some valves did not close .

And BTW: they took out the engine from the bottom by putting the car on a car lift, not by jacking the rear up!

The Ferrari specialist is finishing on the engine, apparently some cables were burnt and had to be replaced. In a couple of days we'll take her out on the streets to test the engine.
