Our longest straight was 1/2 mile. But you go into it with some speed. And I would slow to make the turn at the end.

Man, that's a terrific color combo. Great looking wife, great looking puppy, great looking car. You have hit the lottery, doc!
    Thank you for posting.

Tom, thanks for the nice comments. Car is not lowered. Had to get this color. Had 5 red ferrari's, one Silverstone, rich looking color like yours. I will not see my self coming and going. Had to be different this time around. By the way new gearbox is fantastic. Kinda glad it went bad, brand new unit much smoother.

This is Texas, my wife is a native, and she looooves her pickup truck. It passed 200 K miles today. By coincidence this song was playing on the radio. [emoji23]

And for some requisite Ferrari content, the wife's truck (2006 Honda Ridgeline) and our Cali.

I like your wife's Honda Ridgeline and as I mentioned to you before this truck is a rarity in europe because isn't commercialized here and there are only around 20 units most of them located in Germany and belonging to american military personnel. They pair well the avorio Cali and the white Ridgeline.

Tom have you seen the 2016 official trailer of the ne GT4 Lusso ? If not the link is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-msUbl8Qek

Just a curiosity, all the scenes, except the ones in the snow , were filmed in Lisbon city and surrounding coast from where I've posted in the past some pictures of my Cali. The light house you see in the end is the one in the cape near where I've mentioned before the James Bond 1968 movie was shot.

Tom, just now read this post. If the Cali is anything like the 612, do not leave the tender plugged into the car's receptacle unless it is connected to an AC outlet. The tender will actually drain the battery if it is not powered. I learned that lesson the hard way!

    Hi Paul,
Yes, I think that's true on the Cali as well. If you plug the conditioner into the receptacle one of the two red lights comes on. The second doesn't come on until the conditioner is plugged into the wall. Thus far, no battery related issues, knock on wood!

Yes, I have seen that video! I like it. I did not know it was shot in Portugal. Pretty coast line. One of these days, it would be fun to do top-down driving on the coast in the Cali.

Had a chance to see and sit in the V12 Lusso a few weeks ago at a dealer reveal party. It's very nice and spacious, even in the back seats. My dog would absolutely love those back seats! I hope it's a huge success and drives down the prices of used FFs! [emoji3]

After noting in Mario's thread that I had limited experience in wet conditions since putting on new Michelin Pilot Super Sports in early Fall, that deficiency has been definitely taken care of this weekend. The wife and I took our longest day trip yet in the Cali, with fellow DFW Ferrari enthusiasts. About 300+ miles round trip. Once a little west of the Metroplex, the skies opened up on us, near the small towns of Graford and then Lipan.

Roads that I had driven enthusiastically (by my standards!) in the 911 this past summer, got exciting with heavy rains. The MPSSs handled superbly in the wet.

Our Cali lined up with fellow enthusiasts at the start of the rally. This picture is courtesy our local FCA chair, Shawn.

We turned our clocks back an hour this weekend, so after much study of the manual, my first DIY fix! [emoji3] Ta da, correct time! Also, figured out how to get the TFT to display the speed.

Excellent. Confidence inspiring. Things got a bit unnerving when we hit a few patches with standing water on the road (this was a small secondary back road), but I don't think any tire can protect against that.

Thanks. As I've said on several occasions, I can't take credit. It was chosen by my wife. And, blessed by Mario's wife. [emoji3]

I admit that I'm still torn about whether it'd look even better with carbon fiber fender shields, hood badge, cavallino, logo, etc. To add a bit of contrast to break up the light colored exterior. Need to find someone with Photoshop skills!

I had the HELE turned on, so do I park amidst the fuel efficient cars?[emoji3]

In the end, I decided against it, since it was too close to the entrance. I prefer to park way out in left field away from the other cars.

Than at our next stop, I pick the wife up at the front entrance after she's finished her shopping. Middle aged lady comes over to us - "Do You Know So and So from San Antonio?"
No we don't, we replied. She explained that she thought we might know them since they also owned a Ferrari. [emoji849] For those who are not up on their Texas geography, San Antonio is about 300 miles/600 km from Dallas. [emoji3]

LOL! :D That's cool Tom. I guess Fcars are still exclusive in DFW.

As for the fuel-efficient crowd, maybe you can purposely pull up, top-down, alongside one of them (the electrics and diesels) at a long red light... and kill your engine; only to instantly roar off when the light goes green.

Tom Ferrari is a family and I have the feeling that one way or the other all owners have something in common even if they leaving thousands of miles away from each other. May be that's what mixed up the middle aged lady.

My wife accuses me of leaving the HELE engaged so I can enjoy the sound of the Cali barking back to life at every red light and stop sign. [emoji3]

    She's right!

Another fine fall day here in Texas. Went on a drive with the wife.
Stopped off at a winery, Blue Ostrich, north of Saint John, Texas. Close to the Red River. Gorgeous scenery. Enjoyed a picnic lunch.

On way home, passed a mileage milestone.
Since car is now essentially worthless, nothing to but keep driving it.

Tom nice picture of your Cali "arrière" it's amazing how the Avorio color enhance more the Cali curves from that angle. In terms of mileage you've passed the 10.000 and you are catching up fast my Cali which is now 14.000.
