    Thank you. I've been in the auto industry for 33 years and have worked and mentored with some amazing people. Success boils down to great teamwork (leveraging everyone's talents), being "open-minded", problem solving, experimenting, not afraid of making mistakes, correcting, testing, validation, good judgment and good taste while keeping the politics out of it. And of course it has to be fun!!!!

    We created two different options for the data plate. I'd love to hear your opinions. The data plate will be riveted in the middle and center of the cover.

    Thanks! BTW, when looking at period air box data plates, we copied the text from the example we had exactly including the awkward translation, spacing and "sostiluirlo"! Alberto, you are correct though!

    Amazing work! You can't go wrong with either data plate. #1 looks more correct, # 2 is a bit nicer aesthetically.

    Will you be manufacturing a small batch of these? :)

    Thanks, this has been a fun journey. We're not producing these but will be more than happy to help anyone non-commercial and wants to do this on their personal Dino. The setup I have is a special NOS Lancia Stratos IDF. I was extremely fortunate to get them. They're different than the IDF's you can get today on the market. The fuel inlets hug the carb making them narrower and come out the back side vs the middle. Simon Just received the newer version with the center fuel intake and is mocking them up. Version 2 on his Dino will be with these.

    Speedsters are so different than Dinos. Both ooze a lot of soul. The Speedster is mellow, the Dino is highly energized. I relate to both!

    I learn something every day! My car has those IDFs too and I never knew they were unusual. You're right-- the standard IDF has the fuel inlet in the middle, presumably so the fuel hose could be brought in from either side. But that protrusion would probably interfere with the neighboring carb.

    Yes, that's always the struggle! On #1 correctness was the goal and on #2 I wanted to highlight the Dino graphic which I think is one of the best fonts in all of automobilia!

    Freeman- fully agree- both incredibly different - both incredibly fun. I bought my Speedster one month after I bought my Dino in '74. Aside from their driving dynamics I found that people react so differently when you are driving one or the other. With the Dino people would be much more reserve and in some cases unfriendly-- but with the Speedster it was like you were walking a puppy or a small child and everyone would be amazingly friendly and want to engage you in conversation about the Speedster.

    I owned my Speedster for about 30 years when a friend kept begging me to sell it to him. I had set up a '61 cab for autocross and found that I much more fun driving it then the Speedster so I very reluctantly sold it to him. I still own my '61 (and of course my Dino) which is still set up for autocross. It is my everyday car up here in the mountains-- when it gets cold I switch to the Dino.

    Lovely car! I'm not familiar enough with them to spot everything you've done but I did notice some mods. But that's really the point isn't it-- it's fun making the car better and more to your liking without calling attention to the mods or making the car appear non-stock to the average guy.

    Love the data plates. Details like that knock me out. I think I prefer #2 for its simplicity and larger "Dino" script, but both are very nice. Here again, your IDF conversion will escape the notice of all but the cognoscenti. Very, very nicely done. :)

    That's really the idea. Tailoring your car to make it yours and personal. I ended up installing #1. Simon uses the appropriate rivets.

    Here's the air box together. Plenty of room under the stock deck. Runs amazing! I took it through the same paces I tested the old DCNF's. What a difference!! Zero sputtering, instant response and no fuel starvation or flooding! Instant hot restarts. My Dino has lots of little dings, foam in the seats are crumbling etc but it sure drives amazing!!!!

    That has always been my goal. Make it drive great before doing any of the cosmetics.
