My Maserati you have to lift the t handle to go to reverse, this 612 just arrived, and I can freely push this forward and back, I would think that could be a hazard if I bumped it into reverse? or with the computer forbid that if you are moving forward? Is it mechanical or electrical lockout?

    MY06 thx

You are supposed to lift the handle to engage reverse. Over time the switches wear or get broken by people who force the handle without lifting it. Hill Engineering makes a repair kit for the handle if it is broken. Be gentle with it, you cannot imagine how much a new switch is from Ferrari.
