Had some time over the weekend to install a new exhaust system (Capristo 3 + test pipes) and R&R interior stickiness - thank you guys for the helpful guides on doing this...total lifesaver.

Someone PMed me (I didn't reply because I don't know where that msg went, sorry, LOL) about a good dashboard cover and I think I found one! I ordered a felt cover from DashDesigns and it fits (and looks) great...I also ordered a Covercraft sun shield and new floor mats from Exoticare.

Next up, H&R springs and wheels!

I'm curious as well. That looks like a nice piece. In fact, they all do. Definitely some nice upgrades there. :)

I have had one of those dash covers in my 348 for the past four years and it does a great job of keeping the sun off the leather (I used to live in AZ so I really needed it). I don't remember what the cost was but it was not much, like maybe $60-75.

just went to their website.. very interesting

Dashboard Covers, Dash Covers, Car Seat Covers, Car Floor Mats | Dash Designs

ive been using a sun screen.. when/if needed.. not a big hassle.. but still have to open it up, position it nicely.. so it covers dash well etc..

but this dash cover.. is way better.. just leave it there.. permanently..

just priced one out.. Black Brushed Suede.. $49..? that's pretty amazing if you ask me..

but my question is how does it stay in place..? if theres nothing keeping it secured.. could just slide off.. ?

oh another thought came to mind.. it covers passenger airbag.. not sure how good that would be if ever the bag deployed.. therefore leaves me to assume its not meant to be left on as a permanent fixture..

Dave, what are you using to fasten those things to the floor boards? Metal screws or rivets? Either way, drilling holes in the floor is a multi-bit process due to the hardness of the steel. Was hoping for an easier solution.

    Hi Vince,

On the 355, c-channel brackets are welded to the floor (under the carpet). So, no drilling needed other than existing rivets. 1/8" diameter rivets (not included) secure the retainers to the c-channels.

PS, the floor is mild steel, it's not hard (and drilling thru it would not be wise).

Well you had to go post those up, darn you! :D My original mats have those retainers and one of the toggles went AWOL as well as one of the mat grommets. Had to add to the order too to justify the shipping. Order already sent and filled. Thanks Dave!

Hi John, thank you for your support (multiple orders). I did not know it was you until this post.

    Much appreciated :)

Thanks, Dave! Is replacing the existing retainers in the floorboard pretty easy? Seems like just drilling out the existing rivets is all there is to it?
Yep, mine came with velcro but I tucked it pretty tight between the windshield and the dash so it's snug and does not move around at highway speeds with windows down or while turning.

Mine is indeed the brushed black suede.

I'll take some more this weekend!

Nice I think I will get one. Thanks, looks very good and beats the stupid windshield cover I have. I can never get it to fold back together, it is one of those round ones.

Instructions should have said not for people over 25 years old. Ha ha

Yep - drill out rivets and install new. But, no need to change retainers if OK. You can just add the gromments to the mats :)

the piece that covers the cluster.. is it connected to the main dash piece.. or just lays there?

The cluster flap is part of/connected to the main dash piece. I can really tie everything down with the Velcro and make it extra snug but I'm fine with the way it looks (and the amount of shade protection for the dash) for now.

Wow! Now that is a neat product! And the fact that it stays put during driving...that's fantastic! I'm going to check these out...even though I have a 348...
