My Scud now has 80 000 kilometers. 2 months ago I was at the Ferrari Racing Days on Hockenheim where I have saw at least 10 other Scuds. ABSOLUTELY NEITHER of them was in such condition as mine. Some had marks, some had whitening on the CF in the engine bay, some have been repainted and the stripes were badly replicated....

I bought my car with 70 000km on the clock and now it has 80 000 and I am sure I can win a concourse with it. So forget about this bull**** with the "problematic high mileage"cars. I just don't see how can you buy a normal 430 if you have an option to buy the Scud, which is much, much better and different than its normal brother, believe me! Check the car and if everything is fine and it has been well serviced, then what to worry? The mileage is just a number on the dash, nothing more!

And on top of that the Scud will never depreciate and the F430 will.

First of all I have to underline that I am a driver, I am not a collector therefore I use my cars everytime I can and I have always put many miles on each car I have owned. I usually put between 8k and 12k km each year from March to November and this means drive a lot, on every single occasion and mostly on long to very long distances. Bering said all this, the 458 is huge step above the scud in terms of driving comfort, power, and overall experience. Mine is a spider so there is even more involvement than a coupe but it's a complete different car. So much more powerful and capable compared to the Scuderia. Another big step is how it handles in traffic compared to the very good Scuderia gearbox, but with the double clutch you really feel like going from a tractor to a modern car. Now... if I was not driving so much I would have kept the Scuderia, no doubt...
I am fully happy of my choice , the 458 is better in every way compared to the scuderia but I hope I could sometimes add a Scuderia again to my garage.

I put about 10,000 miles on a 12 Italia and I can tell you it's a fantastic Fcar. Fast, reliable and planted around turns but not as much of an "event" as driving the Scud. The 458 is softer, more refined, comfortable and quieter than the Scud. That's one that should be determined after a test drive of both. Drive the 458 and then the Scud, both in "race" mode.

Thank you for the advice! I have to make an appointment to test drive both. I have to say the 458 spider is looking sexy as hell.

Thank you! It's nice to know you're actually drive your cars instead of letting them sit in the garage.

Just curious if you did the PPI and what came up? I noticed they raised the price of this car to 156k.

Still waiting on a full report. What I do know is that the compression and leak down test came back with great results.

That was expected. This engine has proven itself to be almost bulletproof.

I'm not sure why the price went up but I should hear something back on Monday on the PPI. I'll also update everyone with my experience with the Indy shop as well.

You're in good hands with Fast Cars (in Redondo Beach). I had my Scud PPI'd there as well. And I can tell you they are extremely thorough and their blessing gave me all the confidence to consummate the purchase. Are you working with Craig?

That's correct. Spoke to Craig and made me feel real comfortable over the phone going with them for a PPI. What I can tell you is that my experience wasn't as good as yours but I rather not say anything until Monday.

    Alvin,

Sorry to read that your experience wansnt good. I assume it's regarding myself not being availible last week to go over the inspection. I got very sick and monday evening and actually spent all week in bed trusting that things were moving forward at the shop before the thanksgiving break. I will be back to full strength and work on Monday and can review your report and discuss with you then.

Sorry for the late response guys. I actually didn't buy the car. But I think it was sold to another member here. At least the new owner received a free PPI.
