I don't call it "cowardly". It just shows his interest was never really into the sport.
But that's only YOUR opinion. Many people will understand Nico's decision. Not everybody wants to be Mario Andretti, Graham Hill, Jack Brabham and drive round until they are caught with old age. For some people, there is more to life than repeating onself ...
Mika was more than ready to retire after #2 and live a quiet, safe life of luxury with his family. But it seems very premature for Nico to me. Oh well, not my decision....
Can you imagine if the entire Chicago Cubs team quit after winning the World Series saying "well, we met our goal!" Why is it any different here?
The toughest thing anyone can do in sports is repeat your success. Everyone is gunning after you. Just ask Hamilton. But don't ask Rosberg...
Gee I guess the world of F1 would have been so much better if Alonso, Hamilton, Vettel, Kimi, or Button quit when they won the WDC.
A team is one thing an individual is another. This would be more akin to Lee Westwood finally winning a major and retiring. There is not much to gain and much to lose for Nico staying. How many baseball players have suddenly been killed during a game?
Sure, but having a young family can change one's framing. Does he really want to end up injured or worse ? How many WDC's is enough ? It's the smart decision.
Lots of negativity towards Rosberg in your posts; you don't mind me saying. What has the guy done to you? I wouldn't take Hamilton as an example to follow.
So you think Rosberg is quitting because he's afraid of dying? Doesn't everyone on the grid have a family? Should they quit too?
Having a baby daughter changes everything and can slow you down. Enzo Ferrari knew it, so does Rosberg
