The sensor plugs in under the air box. This is a pic is out of focus but you can see. Each sensor has two plugs and they are different shapes so you cannt get them around the wrong way

put the air box back and you are done.

    Went out for a drive.

Good news is, that with the new relays and sensors, the Idle problem seems better, if not eliminated, I haven't seen any CEL lights, and no stalling in traffic.

Bad news is that hot start is still not good. It did seem a little better, but that could just be wishful thinking on my part.

I DO think however that the overall drive of the car seemed better. If this was the relays or the sensors I don't know. I am now considering the gold kit as my winter project.....

If anyone has any good ideas on diagnozing my hot start problem that would be great ! in the meantime I will continue to research and of course drive....

When I bought my 348, the rear tail light grill was broken. You can see in the attached pic, that on the right one of the strips of metal which goes across the right hand light is missing.

I've also loved the Series Speciale treatment of the light cluster on the 348. The parts needed to convert a regular 348 into a SS 348 are very rare. You need spacers to make the rear lights stick out more, you need a special grill which only covers the center section, and you need what are called "end caps" to cover the screws on each end of the grill. The end caps are like gold dust. I don't think that Ferrari every made them as "parts" so they are super rare.

    Until now.....

Fellow F Chat member C2D (Chris) and his team at c2 design have come up with a kit which will convert the rear end of a 348 to a SS 348. Chris has developed this kit for his own car, which you can read all about in his thead here.

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355-sponsored-bradan/494539-serie-speciale-tail-light-help-needed.html

Since converting his own car, Chris has decided to make this into kits for others if they wish. Given that my grill is broken, and i've always loved the look, I decided to buy one of Chris's kit. I am Chris's first customer !!!

Chris is going to send me pics of the progress, so I will post them here

In order to do the conversion you have to send him your grill for modification. My understanding is that the grill is crimped together so although Chris is going to take it apart it would be possible to put it back to stock.

first thing is to get the grill of the car. It's held on my two screws at each end, and then another in the middle.

So this week I mailed my grill to Chris. He sent me some pictures of the progress which follow. The next few are measuring the grill to see if it's square. (I don't think mine is)
