If i could pick them at their prime i would say 1-Kimi 2-Seb 3-Massa 4-Alonso 5-Hamilton 6-Rosberg 7-Button
I am surprised so many people currently rate Alonso so high, and Button so low. looking at the most recent season, both drivers in the same car were almost always with in 2 grid spots of each other. Neither driver is at the same level that they were at 10 years ago.
Let's focus on what really counts - points. Alonso - 54 Button - 21 Game over... Alonso dragged that hound of a McLaren to points levels it just did not deserve. His race craft and over taking was superb. He hasn't lost any of his skill and could be a number 1 driver in any team. Even Merc...
It is remarkable how many on here rate Alonso as top dog (not that I disagree). Before he drove for Ferrari he was dissed on here not unlike some of the current comments about Hamilton. Makes me wonder what would happen if Lewis joined the Scuderia one day?
Just like Enzo "I would pull for the car, not the driver". that is the only way. You can't let your heart lead you on favorite driver, it is about the whole team of Ferrari, long after these drivers are gone. People don't even remember Berger or Prost what races they lost with Ferrari, but they still pull for Ferrari , even if they have never hear of the drivers from 1962. I certainly don't think the ferrari crowd would love Hamilton just because he drove for ferrari, he would get a certain pass for that, but it is always the car. Even my friend Shcumacher did things I was not happy with when he drove for Ferrari, but the team was winning. Did I pull for him when he left, not really, always stay with your team. Like life , you have to have a long term vision and view, not just a handful of seasons, bad or good. We went 21 years without a Ferrari World Champion, if people think we are in a dip now. What did they think for after 1979-2000, Jody was the last Champ in 1979 Then Michael in 2000.
Alonso had one top five, in a race where a Ferrari and Red Bull did not finish, other then that both Alonso and Button were lucky to finish at the tail end of the points paying positions. Sure he looked great when he was over taking a Force India or a Renault, but wouldn't that be expected of a former champion? My point, the most recent season demonstrated that Alonso was only better then one of the former champions on the grid, that being Jenson Button.
Never really seen him race properly have you? If he gets the job at Mercedes, watch him destroy Elton with his racecraft, Elton is fast but dumb, Alonso is sly as a fox
Yeh he is sly of course, who can forget Spygate?he is a great driver but also flawed ..like most of them.
You think being in a McLaren he demonstrated his true skill? Remember, your little buddy Elton was no better than an also ran in the McLaren too, and couldn't shake off jenson. Alonso will destroy Elton on racecraft, and mind games - he's the master. Elton will be missing press calls and crashing his cars in no time
Really? How did you establish that exactly while he was driving one of the worst cars on the grid? Curious. Surely you can't be referring to age? He's 4 years older than Hamilton, 2 years younger than Kimi.
I am not an Alonso fan. Never have been in fact. But i can't deny his talent. He dragged those POS Ferraris to places it did not deserve to finish at all. And, he's doing it again with the Mclaren. Now imagine if he has that Merc seat next season, and assuming they will dominate again. He will crush the entire field. As for Hamilton and Ferrari, if he ever comes and drive for Ferrari, I will quit watching F1 altogether.
Hamilton at Ferrari would double the entertainment. Turn off the race, then come here to watch the exploding heads until the next one.
+44 I was already happy when Alonso joined and heads exploded. Then the same thing happened again with Seb. Remember how many hated Kidindex on here?
I doubt anyone at ferrari wants that arrogant whiner pissing the entire team off every weekend, if moral isn't low enough, get that buffoon in the car, watch the team disintegrate around him.
