Has anyone noticed FF price keeps dropping dramatically comparing with other models? Any one know the reason? Thanks for any inputs.
Several issues leading to this in my opinion and some mirror earlier patterns for similar Ferraris: 1. Car is a 2+2. They have always failed to retain values. 2. V12 cars have had steeper depreciation curves. 3. newer version released. 4. Styling does not appeal to many. 5. Time of year-winter approaching. I have owned Ferraris since 1973 and except for limited production cars most newer cars lose value. The model in question just does it at a faster and greater rate. Enjoy the car, it is a great car but a losing "investment."
Back of the envelope approach is to look where the previous model is trading which gives you a good indication where a current model might "stabilise". Eg, in the case of the FF, you can in Europe get a good second hand 612 (7 yrs old) around EUR70-90k. Some higher mileage cars less and as new (e.g. OTO) at a bit more. In Europe, you can get a relatively low mileage 4 year old FF at EUR140k. So my guess is that you would look at a further EUR50k depreciation over next 3-4 yrs. So, some EUR15k a year in depreciation - but still significantly less than the 30-40k "enjoyed" by the first owner...
2+2's historically have not done well off their original MSRP before bottoming out. FF's will likely be around 120-130k USD before maybe bottoming. That's for a nice example...higher miles will probably go down below 100 like the 612s did. Amazing value all things considered.
They won't go as low as the 612, which lacks so much of the upgraded tech. And as soon as they stop making V12s ...
On one hand this is a far superior car to the 612 from a technological standpoint. On the other, due to this it will likely be a more expensive car to maintain than the 612 in the sense there is more technology to break. IE 4-wheel drive and the dual clutch. For this reason not quite sure it is obvious that it will perform better than the 612 did.
Interesting because the prices are holding in Canada right now. But then again those cars have been on the market for a while. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk

Well, your question has to be taken in the context of other V-12's, particularly 2+2's like the 612. First, the styling has always been controversial, and generally regarded as unattractive. Compared to the F12, which was a resounding styling success, the FF is an acquired taste, not so nearly universally seen as a hit. While the technology and driving experience were positive, visually the car is challenging for many to appreciate. Indeed, it has sometimes been referred to as the "ugly Ferrari" by those not knowing its name. The 612 was very understated yet elegant. The design has worn well over the years and it has its fans, certainly. It did not elicit the sort of response by most that the FF did when rolled out. Sure, not everybody was a fan, but it was not considered so inaccessible to appreciate. As time goes on the FF will continue to have its advocates, but its appeal translates to continued weak and falling prices, as seen. Tough for V-12's in general, and 2+2 V-12's in particular, but especially true for the FF unfortunately. It's a great car, but not appreciated. This translates to good value opportunity if you can get past the styling.
In my case, the specs of the interior conducted me to a lower miles higher price one. But I get what you are saying. Now, depending on the seat type (daytona especially), lower miles keeps you away from seat leather wear (at least for a few miles).
612s bottomed out but here in the UK they recently went up in value (this happened to older Ferraris across the board). I could have sold my DD 612 for more money than I bought it had I held onto it. I'd imagine that FFs out of the warranty/free servicing period would see even lower prices
These daytona seats look good. A beautiful build this black one. Would be appealing to me, even at 35k miles because Westlake Rusnak will deal on this ask: 2012 Ferrari FF | eBay
Wow, that's a gorgeous color combo inside and out, even though I'm not a fan of Nero exterior. That's how I would spec mine but with one of the grigio shade for the exterior, if getting it new.
I couldn't find any details about the build specs on this 2012 Black FF on eBay or the dealer's website. Did I miss something? Brian L, do you know someone at Rusnak? What do you think their bottom number is?
Keep going down FFs! I'd love to have one without an ugly interior (any of the tans).....throw Blizzaks on it and a ski box and have a blast. And that's exactly what I'd do with it too.....
Great, everyone will find exactly what he/she likes, because I don't mind the tans. Let me know if you ever find any Blizzaks or studless winter tires in the oem or Cali T oem tire sizes that will fit...non oem setup suggestions are good, too. I have already gone on many tire sites and could find nothing but performance winter tires if going oem sizes.
That's too funny as my wife got rid of a very nice car because it didn't have a garage door opener and she didn't want to use her phone as a remote.............
