Is anyone running this exhaust? I found a used exhaust for a reasonable price and was thinking of swapping my Tubi for it.

YouTube sound clips sound great. Closer to a Capristo than a Tubi...but at a fraction of the price.

I know Eric had one that he sold before installing it. Maybe whoever bought it can chime in with a review?

    Cheers :)

If you prefer 'loud' at idle through WOT, then you will like it ... experienced this on an MS-racing equipped 355 ....

I'd swap a Tubi for an MS Racing Exhaust. Just keep in mind there were different versions over the years ( I think 4). It won't be as good as a Capristo, but should be alot lighter than both Capristo and Tubi.

It's an ok exhaust and there about 5 of them up for sale on Yahoo Auctions Japan at any given time. ITO Racing is the exhaust most aim to get in Japan just like Capristo is the exhaust most people aim to get here.

I'd rock MS Racing for more improved sound and weight reduction over the Tubi. The Capristo sound is hard to beat.

MS Racing exhaust sounds just sickening. Definitely would swap the tubi for it.

I bought Eric's exhaust, but haven't had time to get it fixed yet. It was damaged at some point, and needed sorting out, still don't know how bad it is. Been to tied up with work, family and all the holidays to get around to it.

    Redlyne,
I'll shoot you a pm if I decide to sell. May be easier to just buy something that bolts right on, since time has been a problem.

I can't say for sure, but it seemed reasonable. Its in a storage unit now or I would try to get a weight on it for you. if your really interested I can try to weigh it in the coming week?

The MS Racing exhaust weighs 23 pounds.

Used to have one, it replaced a Tubi that came with the car. The Tubi weighed in at 27.5 pounds, FYI.

Hi, ShineKen, do you know whether MS Racing exhaust is louder at idle (valve naturally closed) than Cap 1?

i watched some MS racing exhaust clips on F355 over youtube. The wailing it produces seems to supersede that of capri (subjective).

I believe there are as many as 4 different versions of the MS Racing exhaust. Lots of clips on Youtube are old. However, I am sure all of them are louder than Capristo at idle. Capristo is nearly as quiet as a Lexus.

Which vid did you watch? I’ll tell you if the wail supersedes Capristo’s :). I haven’t heard one that does yet.

It appears MS Racing no longer has a website. If it were my money, I would order their latest system. I don’t believe anyone in the U.S has this system yet. You could be the first :).

Hi ShineKen, i like your analogy "as quiet as Lexus". I liked the sound of MS Racing, but i guess it is a no brainer then. Cap 1 it is!.

Of the videos i watched, i like following the most

I visited the following site for pricing: http://www.catsspeed.co.jp/FR_Parts/index2.html
It is as expensive as cap considering the exchange rate.

I have 99 355F1 Spider (restoration) and 98 F355 Spider (parts). I have two because one will be a parts car.
I bot 99 few years ago which was in running shape but missing many parts (underbody panels, whole side brake unit, trunk cover, fender covers etc).
Seeing how many parts 99 is missing, I believe it must have got into accidents apparently. To source missing parts, I bot salvage 98 but i was surprised to find its body and structure be in much better shape than 99. 98 has only 18,000 miles. Some of us here may recognize this car as it was on copart.

So i am debating whether to use 98 as the base and source parts from 99.

You bought a whole car for parts???

Catsspeed the place the get exhaust from Japan. The guy speaks English fairly well so communication would not be an issue. He actually knows alot about the exhaust options in Japan, so you can ask him his opinion as well.

yes.. and it wasnt cheap.. 44k i paid for parts car. my initial plan is to conver f1 to manual so my mech and i decided to buy a wreck with transmission intact.

I came across a copart listing (above) and decided to go for it.

    thanks for reference re: catspeed.

Was the parts car in an actual wreck or just some flooding?

It was listed as vandalism over copart. No signs of flooding according to my mech. The car is from Florida.
He deduces that it was not looked after and pretty much abandoned. Rain may have caused the visible damage in the interior.
Structure and parts are all intact and solid. He says that the doors even close like a new car as its low mileage shows.

I have mixed feeling about being a culprit to make one fewer F355 in the world, but it is now pretty much impossible to pass necessary tests in order to register the parts car in korea. In short, parts car cannot be registered in korea to be driven on public road.

Are you familiar with Tuning Park in Korea? They should be able to get you a Capristo at the minimum. They might have connections to exhaust manufacturers in Japan as well.
